I am trying to get the float level set correctly on my SU carbs but just can’t make them workout. I want both carb levels to be the same height down from the bridge. My front float level is about the right height but the rear one is about 1/4†lower that is should be. If I bend the tab to raise the level, the float hits the float chamber side and fuel spills over the top. I have even tried drilling a new pivot point higher in the float chamber but that has not worked either. One possible cause of this height difference is my engine sits at a 3 degree angle with the front being higher than the rear. Should a Z engine sit level in the engine bay? Thanks for any help on this.
