I understand, I have purchased the manual -- made a post here when I got it (http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=108277); it really is an awesome manual and I'll possibly be buying it again soon if I cant find my copy -- but I recently moved and can't seem to find it... wasn't with the car goodies

Could someone scan the JTR mount photos with the dimensions so I can CAD them up - even if they're more expensive to have made I'd still like to get quotes... what kind of machines are needed to do it yourself?

Quick question on the cost effectiveness here...
Should I just buy the mounts from JTR?
OR
Should I CAD them up, take them to a local machine shop and have them made?
if I should have them made, could someone be kind enough to upload or e-mail me copies of the pages with the mount drawings..
I've got AutoCAD '07 -- I've only worked with R14 and R2000 about 5 - 6 years ago so wish me luck.

my brother got a ticket once where a cop "thought he was speeding" because he "saw" him speeding through there around two... My brother had worked all day, and brought in the videos from the security cameras to prove that he couldn't have been there at two -- due to a timestamp on the film... the cop also said he didn't get a real good look at him since it was dusk and it may not have been the same car, after being hit with that... funny stuff.

The JTR book is in my car, which currently -- I can't get to at the moment. I'll be using a turbo 400 transmission and the stock differential on my Z (r200 I believe - '76 280z) .. I was told I'd have to get a new driveshaft made from something or another?
What exactly is that all about? -- Sorry for the stupid question... I just don't understand anything from the transmission back.. lol

Within a few months I'll be installing A/C in the Z -- I'll be going the vintage air way just like several of you guys have...
What was the total cost on everything? and was the install very hard?

I've used JB weld on a gas tank... it's holding up fine... 6 months later.

Sorry, the title just felt right, anyways -- I've found a 1978 Chevy/ GMC 1 ton pickup truck with SBC 350 motor and TH400 transmission a few hours away ... for about 100$ -- ebay
It's a POS that runs....So that'll be yanked in, put into the Z while the real biuld begins... ::EVIL LAUGHTER::

I think you'd be fine with the 6 cylinder in it, if it's tuned and in good shape, it wont' be that bad...

I'm just trying to find a list of carbureted 4bbl 327ci - 350ci v8's, and what car's and years they are found in.
I've been looking for a '68 - '69 327ci 'vette engine, but that's kinda unrealistic to find -- I'm trying to avoid a wiring harness.
Anyone know where I could find a list like this? Or could one of your Guru's typing something up

So today I spent some time down at a bodyshop near me, they also send out new body panels and such... I thought it was really cool how they packed them so I'm sharing...
I saw a hood, so that's what I'll try to convey.
They made the box out of cardboard, sealed the edges up real tight and cut little 1.5 inch in diameter holes in a 10 spots (4 on each flat side near the corners, then one on the two long sides . Then they took the hood, and wrapped it with sheets of giant soft plastic, like gladwrap, but a little thicker, After the whole hood was wrapped up, they slid it into the box.
They had a gun filled with warm melted styrofoam (I'm sure the cans at home depot would serve the same purpose) They then sprayed it into the box slowing filling it up, until it reached the first two holes near the bottom, then stopped, let it dry, and continued until it reached the holes on the sides, stopped, let it dry, and continued all the way through until the box was filled.
They took a razor and cut the amount which oozed out of the holes and covered them in brown packing tape...
It's cool because all the customer has to do, is rip open the box and break off the foam & unwrap it...
apparently it's really cheap for them to ship stuff like that because it doesn't get damaged easily.

Yeah, my AWD DSM ('92 Talon) blew after three days... the temp sensor was dead, I had a replacement and I was taking my car to a buddy's to get it fixed, on my way the radiator hose cracked open, leaked dry -- and warped the head off the block...

Last night, I got bored so at about 2:00am I went outside, set up a lamp and started removing all the useless hoses and crap (the JTR was done with a 260z so it's different in quite a few aspects)
There are all these metal pieces on the sides of the engine bay, no nuts or anything holding it on (maybe welds under the fender which I can't currently remove)
Can I just take a grinder and cut these pieces off?
I've never used one, so I'm expecting to loose a finger or so..
