Here are some early picture of the driver's side fender area before I started any major cleanup: Note: the rust on this picture just above the frame rail was quite a bit worse then the picture may indicate. It had rusted away from behind and I have since cut most of this out. This will be shown in up coming pictures.   6. Greetings all! It's been forever since I have really posted anything here. Several moves, and lack of time and funds for a project will do that to you I suppose. Anyway, I finally decided to resume my 240Z project. I had started on it in California, and had to move several times and just did not have the time, money, or place to do anything with it (I am now on the East Coast). I should also state that I have a 280ZXR that also made this entire dilemma a bit more complicated as I have been working on it off and on throughout this moves and it was always a simpler project then the 240 was ever going to be. A three week tear down ended up taking several years, but that is another story. In hindsight I should have really posted that project on here, but for whatever reason I never go to it (It is on my website however). Anyway, I am posting some early (boring) pictures of the 240. I will post the base images here and the additional ones on my site. They will get more interesting, and currently lag behind my current progress. Current Goals: Restore undercarriage of car. For the rust hole areas, I am cutting out the bad and then painting/protecting them until I can come back and fix them later. I realized this past winter if I did not do something this summer that things were going to start getting really bad.   12. My 79 ZXR Engine is dead, not too surprising as it sat for 20 some odd years before I aquired it. The Block rusted out and the head gasket failed. Not to much of a concearn as I have been restoring the car for over a year now and I am about ready to drop a new engine in but I need some help and advice. As the original block is beyond repair and has been discarded I have to drop a new engine in. I have an L28ET that I have torn down and I am going to throw it into the car however I already know this will not run properly on the stock EFI. I have most of the parts required for the 3.1L Strocker but I also have concearn as to wheter it will or will not run on Stock EFI. Originally I had planned on Installing the L28ET and switching over to a TEC 3/4 system, however being as it is illegal I have concearns about being pulled over. (Altough I don't typically fly on the freeways, or the streets for that matter) Any advice on the matter is apprecieiated. She is a Rare car so I am trying to be somewhat appropate in that matter as well.
  13. Ive spent some time reading around the archives, and have read a great deal of the benefits of swapping to a ZX booster if you are in a Z Well here is my question. I have a 79ZX and I am in the process of restoring a great deal of it and the booster is on the list to be replaced. Is there any benefit in swapping to the 82-83 Booster over the 79-81 Booster? Looking online the prices are roughly the same so I wanted to see before I made a choice. I understand tat the M/C (79-81) is ideal and plan to continue it use. Thanks!!
