  1. I just had a very similar problem fixed in my car. After driving for about an hour on the freeway on Sunday, I was unable to shift into or out of any gear. The clutch pedal might as well not have been there. It turns out that my clutch master cylinder went bad and was leaking. A new one was installed and it now shifts better than ever.

While I have a different drivetrain, it is possible that is a similar issue with your car.

  2. One of my exhaust hangers recently broke and the vibrations have caused my turbo elbow to crack. I have seen basically two different styles of these elbows and was wondering if anyone had input into which is a superior design (or if there is an alternative that I am missing)?. For reference, I am running the stock T25.

The first style is divided (currently running):

The second style is a single tube, such as this Tomei example:

    Any thoughts or experience apprecitated.

    Thanks,

  3. I was wondering if any of you have owned/used a car lift for your garage which would let you store another car underneath of it? My father is looking into getting one for his new garage and we aren't really familiar with any of the brands/models. Height is not an issue for the garage and he would like an above ground style of lift. Any suggestions or input?

Thought this one looked OK: http://www.superlifts.com/sr7h.html

  4. hey dsommer, thats a nice hood, i've never seen that for a Z before. You say it's custom. Custom as in one-of-a-kind custom, or just order-it-from-a-catalog custom?

If anyone is interested, I have a hood of this style that I'm not using in my garage. It is in 9/10 condition, with just some very minor primer chipping on the edge - can give someone a great deal on it...

  5. As for the SRz...how was the balance? the weight shift? and did the nose dive down on the corners? Did the turbo lag hurt or help you? (if it's a DET) and did a feint kick out easier or harder.

Well, with a pretty much stock suspension, my car rolls, dives and squats with the best of 'em. Overall though, the balance felt good and the car didn't feel like it was going to do anything unexpected. The major issue I found was transitioning between drifts with all that roll, and it required a huge focus on the steering inputs and throttle control not to snap oversteer (and, yes, I spun out quite a bit). Chassis/suspension tuning is deifinitely my next priority. The turbo lag was not really an issue at all (still on the stock T25) and the only time it even came close was when I was coming around the first big bank in 3rd - but even then I usually got it into the boosted powerband right as I clutch-kicked. As the day went on, I started to understeer more and more on the tighter turns and that's when I started to try to use the handbrake (which didn't work well) and to feint (which I am not very good at). Clutch-kicking was by far the most consistent way to break rear traction in a controllable manner.
