Thanks mate for the link but the problem with the Aussie's is we never got utes or comadores or skylines on this side of the pond ,and i can't follow the lingo half the time anyway "bluey" I do speak "Datsport" though and buy from them alot. Bazz & Tracy are good people.

  2. I'm 99.999999% sure that a H190 detroit locker can be installed in an R190 diff. I've ridden in a 510 that had a detroit R190 installed.

The problem is that the RX7 doesn't have an H190 so far as I can tell (it's listed as 7" which is close to 180mm) and I've never heard anyone claim that R180 parts fit the H190 or vice versa.

Ok, i think that makes sense because the roadster has a R190 and not a 180 so it will not work. Already have a R160 scoobie in my 510 coupe. So i guess i will buy the gslse rear axle and put the torsen in it, for the wagon. Thanks for the help

  3. I have a r180 torsen sold to me as a mazdaspeed part but it cold also be a miata torsen. I am putting a SR20DET engine and SR tranny in my 70 dime wagon. I was going to swap in a 85 GSLSE mazda rear axle because it has a clutch type diff and disc brakes standard. But i have this torsen lsd with ring and pinion.thinking maybe it would be alot less work just swaping in the torsen into the original dime rear axle and then just converting the brakes to wildwood with adapters. Alot less work for an old fart for sure.I know the 2000 roadster lsd will swap in and my question is will the Miata torsen do the same?

  4. I just measured my turbo flywheel on the back of my 83motor its 91/2" pressure plate surface, same as the 2+2 I have. the 240 is 9" so i would say it is the same, dont know about weight though. the pressure plate i have has no wear at all the flywheel will have to be turned it has some scoring but you should always turn one when in installing a new disk. i do not have a disk. pm me your email addy and i will send pictures and obo what you think its worth shipped to Flordia...

  5. I have a 2+2 280Z flywheel ,pressure plate and clutch disk with very low miles on it. I think this is the same as the tubro setup, someone correct me if i am wrong. $150 shipped to Fl. pm for pictures.

  6. i have 2 one from a 72 240z and one from a 81 zxt...but im in tennessee if thats not a problem

Heads up to you zx guys ,anything later then 1973 will NOT BE a 3N71B.

It will be a 4N71B which is a 3spd with OD. And if you don't belive me it is very easy to ID. it will say on the side of the main case 3N71B. Also the OD trans has about a 6 in long housing between the bellhousing and the main case, so if its in the car that is an easy way to id it.

  7. i tried a quick search but i couldn't come up with anything so i decided i would ask. i got my ld28 crank in the mail today and opened it up. the crank looks almost identical except for one thing. the front doesn't have a key way like the old l28 crank. instead it has little indentations on it. i was under the impression that they were exactly the same but apparently not. does this mean i need to find a ld28 timing chain sprocket and oil pump gear? also a stock harmonic balancer wont fit anymore will it? it has v0740 stamped on the first counter weight if it is possible to verify it is a ld28 crank from that. thanks for any help and sorry for the newb question.

That is the correct # VO740 and you should have 3 short keyway slots in a line like the pic i attached. hope that helps

  8. I received a quote from Bill today at Ron Davis for the same rad. 1A26163 with upper left & lower right outlets , but with 1 3/8" outlets for my 73 240 L block and it was $344.00 single pass, add $50 for double pass... looks like $51 a hole to mod it. I did a search before i called, and someone had ordered that same setup for $298.00 in the past. I didnt check the date of that post so cant say how long ago that was.
