Hey do you guys think a pristine 240Z would bring more money (we are building this car for resale) with a mildly built RB25 (350-400hp) or a fully built RB25 making 700hp ? Keep in mind this car has a stock body, no flares and 225 50zr16 tires.

Hey where is your O-2 mounted ? I had a problem with mine because it was mounted to close to the turbo and Innovative told me it had to be at least 24 inches from the back of the turbo or it would get to hot & burn out.Needing some help here, I'm baffled.
Did another free air calibration on the LC-1, and it still wasn't reading AFRs properly.
Got the LM-1 installed in the car, and the AFRs are reading fine on the LCD display on the controller, but MegaSquirt read it going from 12.0-12.5 AFRs, bouncing in between that.
I did some WOT pulls, and the LM-1 read 13.0s down to high 10.0s, but MegaSquirt still read 12.0-12.5
I tried all of the 0.5V AFR settings in the configurator, nothing seems to work. I'm beginning to think this is a megasquirt issue. Maybe something is wrong with the wiring or ECU itself?

Well I do have a gear reduction starter but I also thought about wiring up a relay for the starter , wouldn't that help cut some of the voltage drop & amp draw?

Then the starter took a dump, I will have a new one in it tomorrow & then tuning fun ! I am just glad to hear it run again its been almost three years! Hey also where should the tach lead go to for my autometer tach?

Yep I am a dumba** I had that in the connector along with the inner wire, so of course I wasn't getting signal from the dizzy cause it was shorting out! I redid the connection & whamo I have a tach signal, but the ve table and the O2 show it being really lean. I have the fuel set 1 squirt & simotaniously is that correct or should it be 2 squirts alternating the manual indicates that the way i have it is easier to tune, is this true? Thanks again for everyones help ! BTW it was nice to meet Justin at the Mitty did you guys get the RX7 to fire up ? I had to leave right when you were trying to crank it.

Thanks Matt that makes a lot of sense, sorry if i am a dumb a** newbie but i have to learn somehow! I am pretty sure that is making contact with the power source, i will go down and check right now. Thanks again

So still no spark no fuel no more hair left & i opened the case on the ms & it has a burnt pin #2 and smells burnt. This sux ! I have checked my wiring over & over again I have no idea what the hell i am doing wrong. Extremely Dissapointed !!

Yes it has power while cranking but i noticed that the volt meter was dropping to 8 volts when i went to start it & also noticed that megatune would go from saying "battery ok " to "battery low"

Hey how much voltage does ms need during cranking ?
I am wondering if my battery is just to low during cranking to fire up the car.

Ok i will try that. I also went ahead & replaced the resistor just in case & now i have power on the other side but still no rpm in megatune.

Nope still no power on the other side of the resistor. Is it possible the resistor is bad?

I just untaped my harness to the dizzy & found a loose wire so i hope that is the problem.

Ok so I have power coming to the resister but nothing on the other side (when using a test light) I am asssuming the test light would just be dim if all was working correctly. Is it possible to put the resistor in backwords or is something else going on?

I have not taken that apart it was a preassembled unit from ms & it was supposed to be already set up. BTW is there different types of resisters i am still trying to understand the pullup thing you guys are talking about ?

Hey i am not sure i used the right resister when i wired the dizzy, i used a 1/4 watt 1k resister. Also can you explain the pullup?

Yes i was getting RPM on the stim, i am guessing i don't have something set up right when i did the general setup & configuring

Ok so i really need some help here i have no spark & no fuel pump prime going on. I am pretty sure i have everything wired right but i am not sure i have everything configured right in mega tune, i am a newbie to computer stuff i have worked on many z cars and done a little tuning but some of this is over my head, am i in to deep?

Sorry, I should have asked if you were using the VB921 (or BIP373) transistors or the stock Nissan driver. The V3.57 does not normally come with one installed. I guess that leaves the optical sensor in the dizzy and the pull up circuit for testing...
Sorry but what is the pullup circuit?

There is an associated ignitor(transistor) that should be on the coil mounting bracket.
There is an optical sensor in the distributor.
You should have added the "pull-up" circuit run to the distributor.
You could diagnose any of those...
Well I bought it assembled from DIY & I know it has the coil driver installed so i didn't think i needed the ignitor is this correct? I am not sure i have it configured right as far as timing & trigger.

Engine yes, Distributor came out of a parts car i have,so i am not sure of its condition

Are you seeing RPM in MegaTune when you crank it?

Hey guys thanks for all the responses ! It sounds like putting in a 700hp motor would NOT increase the resell value and just putting in a mildly built RB would be the ticket. Thanks again
