  1. Crusher, the filters are connected that way just for the dyno tune. I will be running them down to the front of the radiator, later on.

Cygnusx1, thw wheels are an Aussie brand called Simmonds. They are a three piece wheel and make custom offsets.

Guys one of the main reasons i went for gas research was to pass the emissions laws.

When i was talking to the engineer before i started he stated unless its a current engine as in the latest ADR,s then forget about passing. I would of had to go an fuel injected late model chev and my wallet isnt that big.

So with the LPG, i pass emission easily, i can rebuild an old chevy small block which saves me big time.

I dont need cats, and the thing costs me more than half the price to run.

Mike, i am currently running 9.6:1 comp but later a blower is planned.

Should be expecting around the 400hp mark.

  2. Thanks guys, the color i picked myself its just called blue violet and the crane is a darker color but the cheap camera didnt pick that up.

As for the gas research, i ordered the parts from the main rep who is based in Brisbane.

Go the the website and call the 1800 number you will most likely get Denise and she can advise you on cost and waiting time.

They are currently flat out and a wait for parts is on the cards.

Price, for a twin system i cant see much change out of 2 grand.

I already had a single setup from a previous engine and i bought the extra parts i needed and the extra parts being:

    converter

carbie (matched to ur power rating)

    manifold

    linkage and bracketery.

    was just over $1100.

    try http://www.gasresearch.com.au

    Hope this helps.

  3. ok some more pics!

Radiator is in and have made some brackets for the pod filters.

Waiting on a call from clark rubber to get some new air intake 3" piping.

brakes are bled and battery tray fittted with a layer of thin rubber in it for the battery to sit on.

I am making the battery leads and re-routing the wires as neatly as possible.

Still waiting also on the twin gasresearch carbies and convertors.

Back to work tomorrow so the process will slow a bit.

I cant wait to hear it though!

  4. Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

Jerry, i am running a 5 speed supra box, and the headers are just block huggers from the local auto spares.

The exhaust was custom built with twin pipes to the diff with hot dog resonators then into a 3 inch single with a high flow 3 " muffler on the end.

    Cheers Graeme

  5. In the first pic i am about to tackle the rewiring. The voltage regulator and ballist resistor will be removed with other unwanted bits and pieces.

Second pic the engine is in, notice the lack of wires now and also the 1" master cylinder for the brake upgrade.

Third pic, 300 mm vented slotted rotors with pbr claipers.

Fourth pic, a trial fit with the Simmonds for clearance.

  6. Bartman, just 15 minutes down the road is a chevy engine importer that have an extensive range of new chev engines.

They even sell the LS7 new.

I put the exhaust manifolds on today and made some brackets to keep my leads neatly in place, i am totally enjoying myself hehe!!!

  7. Ok, i am in the process of building up a 350 want to make about 400-450hp.

I will be driving it on the street and the odd track day but i am not sure which way to go a or m tran.

I used to have a 5 speed which can handle 300hp so it will have to go. I found it great on the track but at time gave me the shits in traffic.

Please help me decide and what auto would suit this setup?

    Thanks

    Graeme

  8. in reading this thread, am i right in saying that the arizona z brake rotors need to be machined after buying the kit???

Why is this so when its a new kit?

Why dosn't arizona z do this?

I am ready to upgrade my fronts and was ready to order but in reading this im suss.

I dont want to be machining rotors after buying a new kit!

Am i correct is saying this/

  9. I am thinking of cutting a hole in the bonnet to let the new engines air cleaner pop out. But do i scoop or just leave the air cleaner chromed and on its own so i can see the engine moving?

Anyone got a hole in there bonnet?

    Cheers

    Graeme
