  1. The LT1 enigne is 280 ehp stock. I have deleted the AC system, added BBK headers, dual Borla 2.5" exhaust h pipe w/ no cats, belt underdrive pulley kit, mini altenator, airfoil, BBK C5 Corvette intake, larger radiator + high cfm fan. I havnt dynoed but I have owed quite a few z32's and it almost feels like the torque of a NA z32. With the mods I had done I was hoping for about 335-350 eho and 300hp at the wheels
  2. z32 maitence does add up esp if your not a fix it your self type but the styling and perofrmance are still top notch today, I see way too many z32's with over 200k to say they are unreliable, not doubting previous post where owners went through one problem after another.
  3. Let me start this off by stating that I am definatley not a mechanical genius. My z32 with LT1 / T56 doesnt seem to be reaching its full potential of even half of its potenital. The 94' Forumla LT1 engine is slightly modified with headers, full dual 2.5" exhaust with no cats and intake but I can hardly break my tiny 8" wide tires loose in 2nd gear. I know something isnt right so I took the car to a guy that specializes in building very reputable chevy race engines and he was dumbfounded. Engine doesnt skip, starts right up good spark, revs up very strong, fuel pressure at 40 psi, idles perfect at about 900 rpms cant figure it out. The only thing he could suggest was build a bigger engine if I want more power. At this point Im getting pretty pissed I take 3 YEARS to build this car and it feels like Im driving a V6. Now that its summer I dont want to pull the engine to have work done which will cause large amounts of down time so I am looking for alternative routes for until winter. I was thinking of installing the LT4 kit available in summit racing for $2500 which says it will produce 425+ horsepower althought expensive very easy to install. At this point I just want to go fast so please dont hesitate to make any suggestions. I appreciate it a ton.
  4. Yea I was figuring something along those lines and considered purchasing the hypertec programmer but for now I am just going to send the ECU to have speed limiter maxed out and delete some other components. Thanks for the imput
  5. Looking for some help with one of the last quirks with my Z. Car runs great and is very strong I have a 1990 Z32 with a 94 LT1 T56 combo. Only problem is in 6th gear when the rpm's get up to 2.5k some kind of limiter is kicking in. No problems with any of the other gears. Any one every heard of anything like this?
  6. My Z is nearly complete but I have one major problem left. When you start the car the steering wheel goes nuts jerking left to right very violently. I have a 94 LT-1 in a 1990 300zx. The LT-1 pump is hooked into the 300zx rack and we cant figure out what the deal is. There is a power steering pressure sender on a stock 300zx that wasnt reinstalled but I dont think that would cause this problem. The engine has been wired directly into the Nissan wiring so that there are no toggle switches and there is only the LT1 ecu, no 300zx ecu. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of it? Could the 300zx power steering module possibly be getting no signal? Any input would be appreciated.
  7. I have installed a 94 firebird LT1 into a Z32 300zx and statred it up but I am experiencing a problem with the theft deterrent system, the engine will start up but because there is no pulse coming from the PWM modulator the coils shut down. Has anyone else expereice this problem and figured out a way to simulate the pulse?
  8. I am willing to part with my project which I have been working on for the past 2 years. The car is about 95% complete. If you have been considering swapping a 350 small block into a z32 this car would save you a lot of work. The drivetrain is complete. The wiring has to be completed but the car can start up. If interested email me at autonite@aol.com for more info. My loss will work in someone elses favor that has the time to complete this project
  9. Hello you and I are on the same page. I put a 94 LT1 in my Z. I have a couple of questions though. Are you doing anything with the differential or strengthening the frame? How many hp do you think the engine will be putting out? As far as all of the electrical how are you working that all out? How much did the TT set up cost you to hook up? I have been thinking about it but I am also considering selling the Z for something else.
  10. I am on the verge of completing a custom Z32 that started off as a stock 1990 2 seater and I have no idea how much to ask for it. i had a 94 LT1 engine with t56 tranny installed. The engine has a variety of external modifications including the new style BBK C5 corvette intake. Exhaust in which the tips alone cost $130. Lamborghini door conversion. Shaved antenna and door handles. A complete molded body kit including a molded twin turbo spoiler. Ferrari taillights, tanabe suspension components, autometer complete custom cluster. black interior with red trim, leather racing seats with 5 point harnesses, push button ignition, top of the line stereo including a sony blank face deck, polk momo component speakers and a kicker comp 15 inch sub that is housed in a custom enclosure in the spare tire well. red calipers with drilled rotors, 19 inch chrome motegi dpk rims which were very expensive, the car is about to come out of the paint shop from being completely stripped and repainted PPG cobalt blue. Then i will be sending it to have the windows tinted and the finishing touches applied. everything is not listed because the list goes too indepth. since everyone reading is a Z veteran some apprasals would be appreciated.
