I wouldn't be worried about what motor fits in a 510, I'd be worried if YOU can fit in one lol

Read up about the VG and learn what it can do, namely http://www.vg30et.com and http://www.redz31.com/turbofaq/turbo.faq.htm
It's no fun just throwing in a V8 and calling it a day in my opinion, especially when the VG is more than capable of making BIG power. Do some research and decide for yourself...

MGP are working on a gutted maxima plenum, which has the tb towards the front and does away with the elbow... I'm kinda shat actually cuz I would of gone that route if it had been available earlier.

9" diff and a tubbed rear end should sort that out

That and any RB20DET, i.e the R31 Skyline Passage... A friend has 4 of them.
-
Plenum $395
Blue plugs $8
Polished top to a mirror finish $45
TOTAL $448

I was thinking of the RB20DET with the TMIC, my bad...

Keep in mind that the stock application for that intercooler on a Skyline is a top mount setup, and as stagefumer11 mentioned above is prone to heat soak...

The only thing I've witnessed, and this isn't from personal experience, but the most common mistake I've seen people make is that they run too much boost with an inadequate fuel system. People take the 12-14psi boost limit on the stock fuel system as gospel, not taking into account that thier fuel pump is 20 years old and probably not keeping up the required base fuel pressure. Also include blocked/leaking injectors and other fuel delivery issues, it's always important to make sure that your fuel system is up to scratch before demanding more out of it...

I get 20mpg out of my 88 Turbo and that's during lead footed highway driving, it would be even less if I wasn't speeding

I got my plenum from MGP Autoparts...

That image is of my exact plenum, I sent them that photo when I recieved it...

I was looking on http://www.vg30et.com/ at the members rides. there is one guy on there who has 440 rwhp and 490 rwtq and he is only doin LOW TWELVES....WTF?!?! there has gotta be a way to get better times than that. I was thinking that with 500 hp I would AT LEAST be hitting low elevens. I am still going to start working on my Z and try to get up in the 500-600 hp ranges, and hopefully i'll be able to hit my mark...... :'-(
7's, 9's and 10's and many in the 11's...
Got lots of money? Can you drive? Then 12's and better are easily attainable...
-
Just ignore the codes that you get for stuff you've removed...
-
Could be something as simple as lifters...

Good advice above. Learn how to drive first, and fix any mechanical issues with the car and then worry about making it go uber fast.

Man that setup looks so horrible, who would actually drive around in that? This is a much better setup in my opinion, I dont know what kind of supercharger it is though...
