  1. I'm sorry Nah, not really Don't use the check book anymore, just pay cash for everything. Much harder to track that way
  2. Looks like it just takes someone who weighs more than 80 pounds to shift it. It's kind of comical how he complains about the harsh ride (It's a SPORTS CAR, idiot!), Plastic interior (As opposed to what, walnut? Go drive a Jag if you want walnut), and leaf spring suspension (Didn't seem to slow it down too much in the corners. Hmmmmm. Maybe it's best not to improve something that has been proven to work really well already (unless of course it's to put an american V8 into a datsun Z )) I had a little respect for that show prior to watching that, but my perspective has now been forever changed. Could they possibly be more irritating? Mike
  3. Almost forgot, I used a dremel roto-zip cutter to cut out the holes in the sheetmetal. It's made for cutting drywall, but it works pretty good on light metal too. Be sure to wear hearing protection though, as it tends to get kinda loud
  4. Heres a few more pics. There is actually a second part that I had to purchase with my fuel caps, a spun aluminum funnel that mounts to the inside of the body that will let you attach a fuel hose to it. I've mounted a cap on either side of the car, and will run the hoses into a "T" fitting that will dump into the top of a summit 16 gallon fuel cell mounted where the spare tire well used to be. I never really gave any thought to the cabin venting that I'd be losing by doing this, but I think it will still work out ok, as the Z isn't really known for being very airtight anyway

  6. Check out the corn dog guys ebay feedback, some pretty crazy stuff in there. Vintage Van Halen puffy stickers, and whacky looking overalls among other things.
  7. Okay, probably a lot of you are scratching your heads over this one. The first auction is the real deal, Eddie (EVH) personally customizes each guitar (wraps with masking tape, probably to be painted by someone else), plays them in concert one time, signs it, and then sells it on ebay with a starting bid of $5,150 (after the 5150 album) In the second auction, some guy has gone to painstaking lengths to spoof the original auction. The EVH in this case stands for Edgar Victor Hernandez. The guy in the second picture is NOT Eddie, just looks amazingly like him. Opening bid price for the corn dogs was $51.50.......
  8. You have to look at both of these to really appreciate this one. Click on the picture of Eddie in the guitar auction to see pics of him painting the guitars. 9. If the Chevy II still has a stock cam in it, it's only going to be putting out a little better than stock horsepower at best. Something about having independant rear suspension tends to make the Z squat and launch better than solid axle cars too, even with a bad initial launch. Tim, I beleive the word you are searching for is "Hoover" or "Mighty Vac" Mike
  10. I agree, sounds just like racoons to me..... But nobody likes to see an animal suffer, so i'd suggest using a large deadfall with spikes on it. it's the humane thing to do Mike
  11. LOL, almost makes the V8 swap sound easy Mike
  12. Heh Heh, the eclipse wheels are on there because I was too cheap to buy new tires for my eclipse, so it got my Z's wheels and tires. If you look closely, you can just baaaaarely see them in the background. Eventually I'm going to get some 17 or 18x10.5 mustang wheels on the back end, with some 9's in the front. Not sure what I'm doing for the front end yet as far as bodywork, something more radical for sure. I'm not really finding any airdams that I like, and I do have a few rolls of heavy glass cloth...... Mike
  13. Not quite finished yet, but here are some pics of the initial fitup after sectioning/glassing/filling the ends of an early 80's camaro spoiler. And to answer your question: Yes, the duct tape is permanent. It is a safety feature designed to let the spoiler shear off in the event of too much down force Mike
  14. If you can get them to San Diego, I could do it
  15. Or the capability to produce WMD, along with connections to terrorist organizations known to be responsible for attacks on the U.S. Just a few things among a laundry list of reasons why we are in Iraq.
  16. I think a second visit to Iraq was inevitable, regardless of who was in office at the time. I'm just glad we have a decisive president who can make a descion and follow through with it. Clintons policy was to launch a few tomohawks in the general direction of a trouble spot, have a press conference and be done with it. If any mistake has been made during this campaign, I think it was not having a GOOD contingency in place for fighting a lengthy war after the occupation. I think they expected a parade in the streets, like after the liberation of Kuwait, not beheadings and car bombs. The justifacation for war was valid as far as I'm concerned, but the planning could have been more thorough. Mike
  17. The BMW V12 looks cool (Far left, yes?) Maybe find some tiny little turbos to go on either side of it. I think you'll need a tiny little hammer for the firewall too
  18. I think we're probably the only addicts that don't have a 12 step program yet. Maybe someone could invent a patch, or a pill we could take to oh-so-slowly get "The Z" off our backs......
  19. LOL, If thats a Baris Custom, then I'm a Chinese jet pilot Mike
  20. I just love it when one project spawns from another. I ended up buying my second Z to use all the parts on that I have leftover from my first Z project, which still isn't done..... Gives a little insight into how my warped mind functions, or rather fails to function. Most people generally buy parts cars to REMOVE parts from them Mike
  21. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2485593966&category=7251 Starting bid is $5000, I have $74.28....... Pleeeeeeeeeeeeaze?
  22. I'm sure there are laws against this, but why not set up multiple boobie traps on the way to your front door. post a sign of course, warning of the danger (for legal purposes, of course ) Remember the first 10 minutes or so of Raiders of the Lost Ark? Thats the goal, We want spikes, darts, crumbling floors over bottomless chasms, huge stone slabs that slowwwwwly slide shut, and a HUGE friggin boulder that will come crashing down if they should get past all of that other crap, and rain all over their parade It's really too bad I'm renting...... Mike
  23. I can imagine them now, flaming away at their keyboards eating handfull after handfull of TUMS antacid tablets
