I can't remember seeing a ZX with black plastic kick panels and door sill plates. Did those model years come in that color?

[LS1 / 280ZX Conversion]

I am about to begin converting my 83 280ZX engine to an LS1 from an 02 Firebird. I do not think I am the first and sure would be appreciative of any comments, pics, advise, etc.
