  1. Thanks will ckeck it out, I saw in your last Vid you had shielded the fuel rail, did this help much? as mine is suffering from heat soak, when left for about 15 mins, runs really lean for a while, once started then is ok after a short while. Don't sell it!!!

Just wondered if anyone has the same thing going on my wideband shows 12.9:1 at idle but my megasquirt screen shows 13.9:1 looks like it's running like this across the scale cars going really well, but want to get the best out of it, maybe i should recalibrate the LM-1 and recheck as I don't want to be tuning wrong!! Can anyone give me a run down on the exhaust gas settings in mS1 extra + edis. What do you think!!??

Yes I have only taken the engine to 5200rpm good boost and power just a little worried about the turbo using the 15w40 mineral oil all seems good, I think I would like to change to full synthetic at 1000miles as the cam and followers are very good second hand units showing little wear, and are already worn in so it's only the rings and bearings that are really breaking in, I think I noticed the whole thing smooth out at around the 280 mile mark, so going good can't believe how strong it pulls.

After Building my L28 Turbo motor, and now having done 700miles I was wondering what mileage people would goto before converting to a fully synthetic oil, if you search it on the web you get wild ranges of opinions from 500miles -15000 miles what do you guys think!! I have some track time next weekend, but am still running mineral oil and won't be pushing it too hard yet untill I have changed to Synth oil.(mobil 1 motorsport blend)
  5. Yes I was a bit paranoid at over boosting when I first installed the ecu but have got over it now, happy days!!!
  6. I think problem found Overboost set at 165kpa will check it out tommorow!!! head hurts less Now...
  7. Datalogg won't upload think it's a bit big will up load a smaller log tomorow I'll also try it with no boost If ok may point to a fuel pressure problem?
  8. Here is the datalog and screen shots of the injector cut off looks like 163kpa is cut off point!!
  9. Not sure, but what plug gap are you running? kind of thinking it maybe interference may disconnect the alternator tommorow and see if that helps.
  10. Remapped last night and cut still there, I will up load a Datalogg when I get back later, see what you think!!! Next thing to try is seeing if it will hit higher rpm's with the boost pipes open/ wastegate open. just to see if it's boost related.
  11. Just checked it 12.6V running inverter ecu and headlamps so not that? maybe just a low map spot that needs tuning but I can't see why the PW would drop right out?
  12. Deos the resets show on the Datalogg, I'm a little new to this quick learner though!! may have a battery issue as am running an 12v-240v inverter to run the laptop.

Hi I am trying to Tune my L28 Turbo motor it has MS1 V3extra+ edis all is great untill I hit 163kpa then it feels like the car cuts out AFR was 12.5-13 when wot and everything else looks good I was datalogging so looked at the sample and it shows 0Pulse width for a fraction of a second at 163kpa , throttle still open, 22degrees spark wideband shows 19:1 EEK!!. Before and after the event Pulse width was 11ms, seems like the injectors shut off??? Sure felt like it just like somone switched the ignition off and back on again. any ideas fuel pressure is 35psi running 550cc injectors. T04b vtrim turbo stage 5 wheel. I haad this on 2 dataloggs the only similar thing between the 2 is it happens at 163kpa different rpm. any ideas, 240sx TPS maybe? although this showed a good reading at this point?
  14. Yes I have searched Valve stem seals looks like alot of people are using Ford V6 seals which I might try if I have trouble again. The clocks gone and boost gauge in it's place, and yes the rear defrost don't work.

Hi all, I'd just like to say a big thanks to your site from here in the UK, as I have been a member on here for quite a while but never posted, I have a 73 240z which I have just fitted a L28 +40 overbore arizona Zcar pistons 2mm head gasket 60mm throttle body, 553cc injectors large intercooler and T04b Vtrim turbo with a stage 5 wheel to and am running Megasquirt 1 Extra Edis6 I had this running with the wastegate open to run it in and had covered 500miles then shut the wastegate engine boosts from about 2800rpm and was in the process of starting to tune with my LM-1 wideband I had only taken the engine to about 4000rpm and it was always on the rich side so all was good. when I started the car up the next morning I had a large puff of blue smoke from the exhaust whcih I thought was funny, then as it got hotter, it would smoke when the throttle was blipped, I thought the turbo seal had gone so made a 1mm reducer to the turbo oil feed, no difference, then after much head scratching and a good scan of HybridZ I can across a post which said after turning up the boost smoke from exhaust and the valve seals had come off!! So out I went to the garage took off the valve cover and 2 seals were up the top of the valve stems I replaced these 2 seals and the smoke has Gone!!!!! So thanks for the great info it's a great site and stopped my tearing down my turbo and getting nowhere, proper set of nissan valve seal on order.
