  1. I was curious what drag classes are available for 280z's with v8 swaps in them. The rules for the import series (Import Face Off and IDRC) don't allow V8 swaps so I would be basically barred from them. I'm in Vegas and PSCA is out here, i've read the rules and they don't say anything about cross manufacture motor swaps. IFO and IDRC allow motor swaps but it must be within the family. Say for a 280z I would have to put a Nissan made motor in it. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I've been to the junkyard out here but every Z has either had the mirror already removed or it is broken. I checked MSA but the mirrors they have say they need holes to be drilled. Is there any replacement side mirrors for 280z's that just bolt up to the stock location? P.S. Yes, I have used the search function.
  3. I got rid of the stock fuel rail and I'm relocating the stock fuel pressure regulator. My questions is which is the feed and which is the return? There is a fitting on the side which is straight and a fitting that comes out of the bottom which has a 90 degree bend in it. The way i'm running the fuel lines is: Fuel Pump --> Fuel Filter --> Front of fuel rail --> Injectors --> back of fuel rail --> FPR--> Return to fuel tank I've tried hooking the lines up both ways on the FPR and it the car seemed to run fine both ways so it got me confused.
  4. I didn't know they were supposed to be a different color. They are the links that were in there from the previous owner. I only noticed it because I brushed against them while my car was running and it burned me.
  5. I attached a pic of my fusible links and the one in the top left gets really hot. I was wondering what electrical items are connected to this link so I can diagnose why it's getting so hot.
  6. Hey thanks Steveosupremeo, that M22 x 1.5 worked perfectly. I picked one up at Meyer's auto parts and it was only $3.50. I'm glad I didn't have to go to the junk yard and pull a non-egr exhaust manifold.
  7. I got a non-EGR intake manifold installed and I now have a large hole in the side of the exhaust manifold that the EGR used to run to. I was wondering if anyone knew what size bolt or plug I can get to plug that exhaust manifold up with?
  8. I have a pretty much stock 1978 280z I would like to later put a LS1 in. In the mean time I would like to do as many mods that I can and keep the car running before actually pulling the engine and dropping an LS1 in. Some of the things I've thought of are: 1. Brake upgrade - Probably the Toyota 4x4 upgrade and a 15/16 master cylinder and maybe do the rear disc conversion 2. R200 diff - From what I read everyone is recommending the one with 3.90 gears 3. Electronic Tech - Probably gonna get an Autometer 4. Better fuel pump - I'm guessing a 255 Walbro Anything else you guys can recommend I get done? I wanna try to get all the little things out of the way before I go and pull the engine because the car is still running good.
  9. I was wondering if there were any Z owners here in Vegas I could tap knowledge from. I got a 78 Z I been working on with a few quirks I can't figure out on my own. I'm a computer tech at McCarran airport so maybe we can barter skills or something.
  10. Is it like a charcoal canister or something for emissions? If so I'm guessing that is not the reason the car idles rough.
  11. I bought a 1978 280z and whatever goes here is missing and i'm not sure what is supposed to go there. I think it is the reason the car idles rough.
