  1. if its your dream to keep it and finish it go ahead. I just didn't want to see a great project car be forgot about and rust out with so many others. lol I can just work on droping a v8 in my z31. So finish it and enjoy driving that beast. But let me know if your heart becomes set on selling it.

Not to take anything away from Hybrids but that is what would happen to this project most likely if I don't sell it now. I would most likely pull the engine and trans out and sell them. And just have the rolling chassis but up on blocks at my farm and keep the wheels for my next car. I will be the first one to say, if I could turn wrenches I would love to keep this car. But I can't and what troubles me also, is that even after the car is finished, their will be maintance issues that I will not be able to address. So with that being said. She is forsale for 5,500. below is a list of specs and other items that come with the car for that price. Pictures are obviously located above in the the post, but if you or someone would like to see more pictures, I have more. Thank you Blake

  2. ok cool sounds good. Do you happen to still have the tt engine? A friend of mine was interested in swaping the tt into his n/a.

I sold the TT engine and trans along time ago. How serious are you about buying this thing? I ran into an old friend who works at a rather large performance shop in town that is willing and wants to finish the car. They feel some magazine coverage can come from it since they have had a couple other cars in mags before.

  3. oh yeah I am very interested in buying if the price is good. Give me a call or drop me a pm with what you are looking to get and we can go from there. It really looks like a great start on an awesome car.

I will get a price together with all of the items that would come with the car. Just give me a day or so. I'll shoot you a pm when I get all of it together. Take care Blake

  4. Well give me a call sometime and I can see about one weekend taking off work and coming up there to help you out. The number is 843-422-3933. We can see about getting that bad boy up and running for you. Or if you are interested in selling lmk lol.

    Bobby

If you are serious about buying it, I will cut you a pretty good deal on the whole package. Plus I have a TON of things that would come with the sale. I will probably end up buying another Supra and just sticking to bolt on from now on lol. I would love to finish this car, just don't have the time. Blake

  5. yeah what all do you need help with? I am in south carolina. I would be willing to help you get that thing up and running if you will take me for a ride in it after the motor is broke in lol.

Just need someone to finish it off. All it needs is minor things like, intake manifold, driveshaft, radiator and hoses, wiring, things like that. And no trans tunnel massaging needed here.

  6. Here's my project. Bought the car from a performance shop awhile back. My progress is below, but now I am at a stand still. I don't have alot of time to work on and finish the car. But every shop I talk to here locally wants an arm and aleg to finish it because they have never seen one before. The car is so close to finishing it makes me sick. If anyone is local to Wilmington NC, please help a brotha out lol!!!

    HEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!

  7. My bad on the 2nd gen thing. I thought the 84-86 were considered 1rst gens. But anyways I plan on buying a 350 here soon just to grab up the drop in conversion for the Ls-1 from Hinson. I have seen pictures of the swap and the room under the hood is crazy. There is plenty in there for a possible twin turbo kit, big single or even a top mounted magnacharger or better yet a kennbell. The 350/Ls-1 marraige would be something not to recon with. She'll go straight, through curves or even sideways perfect and still stop on a dime.

  8. Well, they didn't lie to him and tell him it was going to be easy to make that. They said the average was 900-1000 a week for a 5-6 day work week. So atleast they are being honest about it. I just thought that was pretty good pay compared to the area money he would be getting at an hourly job. Plus he already owns two trucks and all the tools he needs to do it since he has already worked for Time Warner as a sub doing cable, hsd, and digital phone work. So his out of pocket up front money wouldn't be that big of a hit. I just never knew there was that much money in the Direct TV install market. I know when he was working for Time Warner he was knocking down 900-1100 a week no problem. He just wants to get out of Time Warners hair because of all the crazy ass climbing he has to do for installing cable drops off telephone poles. 32 feet in the air off working off of a fiberglass ladder can get scary sometimes I'm sure.

  9. My little brother is thinking about installing Direct Tv for a living. He has told me that some of the installers he has talked to have told him that they are pulling in $1200 plus a week for installs. I just wanted to know if any of were doing this or knew someone doing this for a living and could verify this? I just think that's kind of a ong shot for that type of work, but I could be wrong. Thanks in advance Blake

  10. The bolt pattern isn't identical. There it one missing bolt boss in the block around I think the 1 o'clock position. But, yeah, I am using a traditional SBC bellhousing to bolt the TKO to my LS2 motor.

LS1 240Z is talking about getting a complete truck motor for a grand. That is probably reasonable.

What he constantly fails to mention is the thousands of dollars of changes that need to be made to the truck motor to get them to work in a Z car. Especially if you want a manual transmission. There is a member currently putting a 5.3 in his Z. Find his recent thread to get a taste for the changes needed to make one fit.

Well if someone wanted to run an auto, those engines are not that bad of a deal. Would handle boost VERY well too. I forget, which liter sizes are the truck motors?

  11. just buy a Gen III/IV motor... you can have a truck 6.0 or 5.3 motor complete for $1000... if you dont want fuel injection you can do a carbed conversion also. swapping in one of the later model motors isnt anymore difficult than doing a gen 1 or 2 motor.. but the newer motors are so much more of a motor. 6 bolt mains, stock heads that flow more than almost all after market SBC heads... etc. and you can use all the older auto transmissions with it also.

Please do tell where someone could get these motors for that price. I would gladly swap out my 406 for a newer motor. I can alway put the 406 back in when I am ready to put the car back on the track. Anyways...point me in the right direction of where I can buy those motors at that price COMPLETE.

  12. We will enter......

I would break it down in about 6 diffirent classes.

8,9,10,11,12,13 or more second classes. Then run a bracket race for each group with a payout of $1000.00 per 2nd place, then $2000.00 1st place. Then group the winners together for another bracket race. You must dial in your car and if you run faster then you loose. Then have the finales with the faster cars spotting the slower cars with a 3rd place, 2nd place, then winner with dollar amounts. You will choose who runs who with a draw. Example draw one name, then another they run with a dial in. etc....

Payouts would be up to you. I would not allow electronics, like throttle stops, but have them foot braking, no trans brake etc. It would make for an interesting race. I would only except door cars, no dragsters or pro mods.

    Just some ideas.......

Like I said, count us in.

    John

Very good idea, see that's what I'm looking for the best way possible for the largest amount of people to go home with money in their pocket. I will also throw this out there. I have offered this to every website I have posted this on. I will post shops, retailers, etc on our website and on the advertising fliers free of charge in return for those said shops to help spread the word for the event. I woud also love for some of you video gurus up here to make a DVD of the event and we would sell those DVDs at other promotional events we go to and some of the money would go back to this website to help with growth and support.

  13. I have spoke with Steve Earwood from the ROCK and we got to talking. How many people would show up for a $20,000 prize shootout. I would also want to know what would be the best way to catorigize the final cars. I.E. one winner takes all or 5k spread across four different classes. Ideas like that. I would bring in alot of other entertainment aswell. Carshow and all with the 20k race event. And before you say "if" it happened. Most know I have the cash to lay out on the line for the 20k payout. So any positvie ideas for the event would be great. Me and Steve also talked about getting Espn2 or someother people to cover the event. Might hold a few of these acorss the east if it works out well. I was thinking $50 to enter the event with a 400 car cap, and 20 to watch since there will be tons of stuff to look at and do at the event. I will add that this event will be an ALL weekend event. Money race, night racing, carshow, stage events, bikini contest, free camping etc etc.
