There are several Rapid Prototyping systems with several mediums. When I was in school, Mechanical Engineering, during 2000-2003 I was exposed to several. I have seen a liquid that is solidified by laser, a several plastics powders that were solidified by laser, two metallic that where solidified by laser. The system was 17in circular with a 12 in drop tray and the parts were to within .005 inches tolerances. There are wax printer like huge inkjet plotters that build up a casting model to be encased in ceramics then melted out, lost wax casting, the larges I have seen was 24X24X24 the larger castings where hand assembled form multiple sections. One of the coolest was a laser deposition system that was based off of a water jet cutter. It could deposit Parent Material back onto a machined surface with almost almost no measurable difference in material structure and no heat affected zones. I saw it apply 0.1 inch of parent material to an over machined injection mold the mold was then properly machined. This is done by taking parent material of the mold and grinding it into a micron fine powder or by mixing the proper base elements of the parent material in proper proportions so that when inject into the laser beam by intent gas the material was liquefied and deposited on the surface in the same material structure of the parent piece. In the SAE club we used several lost wax molds to make blanks to machine for our Baja buggy. This stuff is way cool and very fun to work with.

Try this Thread it is a sticky in L28 section http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113143 The Z31 is the RB25 Tran

Stock Compression on an L28et is 7.41 to 1 as you lower compression ration you can add more bost so you have more power on the top end but you loose power on the low end. Compression ratios of 10 to 1 can run on pump gas NA and as high as 12 to 14 to 1 with acholol or propane I cant really remember the limit.

The low rider mag says steel lug nuts are recommended by knock off adaptor manufactures. See figure 14. http://www.lowridermagazine.com/tech/knock_it_off/index.html http://www.licorvette.com/pdfcatalogfiles/KOwheel.PDF Called an asked about knock off adaptors said they had a 6in flange on a 42 hub that was undrilled and would take a 4 by 4.5 lug pattern for $150 us each so 600 and a good machine shop. http://www.britishwirewheel.com/index.htm

3 to 5 thousand US depends a lot on what you have and what you need. Do you have a LD crank Do you have a set of 9mm L24 Rods Do you have a source for custom Pistons Do you have a machine shop you trust to do all the machine work on the block, crank and rotating assembly in you area Do you Plan to assemble the engine your self Do you Plan run carbs or fuel inject, Turbo? All of these questions have been toughly covered in various threads. The crank can cost form 150 to 450 depending or how you get it. New they can run 1200.00 This is an example of how what you want out of the engine when finished is very important to the project decide what you want plan how you will get there and double you projected budget.

Ok for fun the goal of this is now to identify all the modifications to the Devil Z for you own build? It is a First generation S30. So the finder mirrors are stock for Japan? It has a 7 point role cage? I can see the lower seat bar and the rear x. It has a blow through triple carburetor L28 with twin turbo and an intercooler. It has a lower suspension with front brake upgrades. It has painted flares? What type? What is the front air dam and is there a spoiler? The speedometer shows 240 + KMH with 100 KMH = 70 MPH that is a 170 MPH on the speedometer. My feelings on the 2 crashes is that the front end is light on the 240 over 120 MPH so with the racers coming out of the tunnel and crowing a hill the front end is light ruslting in air under the car and the rear end is off the ground so attempting to change lines results in undearsteear?

You tend to use the make that bolts up to you engine but I am looking at the gearing avaiable in each model of t-56. I am looking to make an Ultra close ratio with single overdrive form factory avable gearing. But I am also looking at puting it behind a L engine

Ok so far I have found out that the SD30 Has a 92mm stroke and a 83 mm boar and the SD33 has a 100mm stroke and a 83 mm boar but I have found several post stating that there are no interchangeable parts between the LD28 and the SD33 but this may be because of the difference in firing order. http://nissandiesel.dyndns.org/viewtopic.php?t=20 Which is not a big problem as a cam change with a custom cam or a reweilded cam can allow the use of the SD crank even if the lobes are larger they can be reground to fit. My current question is if the lobes are in the correct spacing for placement into the L series has anyone heard of the SD22 4 cylinder being swapped into any of the L 4 cylinders?

Here is a lot of info on Nissan engines http://www.msi-motor-service.com/intern_msi/download/asiaprogramm/data/as_nissan_web.pdf Page 27 has info on SD30-33T edit I found a New SD33T Crank for $1215.00 US
-
So Does the SD33T Crank Fit the L block? A Custom Cam is a lot less than A custom Crank. I have been looking at a billit crank 89mm $3,850.00 US. A welded out LD crank at 83mm to 87mm was $1,200.00 with all the RISK of a welded strocker but still it is half the cost with a LD Crank running $350.00+.

More on the Nissan TB42 http://www.frontierpower.com/nissan/nissanTB42.htm

Here are some specks on the H15, H20, and the H25 the 4cyl OHV Versons of the H Series. http://www.enginepowersource.com/html/nissan_h15ps.htm http://www.enginepowersource.com/html/nissan_h20ps.htm http://www.enginepowersource.com/html/nissan_h25ps.htm I have talked to some Remanufactures and there are different stroke cranks for the H30. I am trying to get some more Numbers. Not the H30 but a 6 cly http://www.enginepowersource.com/html/nissan_tb42.htm
-
I have found that the Journals for the H30 crank are:Main 2.4780-2.4785 in. Rod 2.0457-2.0462 in. or Main 63mm Rod 52mm form http://www.motorpowerinc.com/specs/h30.html

So the combination for this crank at 100mm sounds like it would be to use the H30 100mm crank in the LD block bored over 2mm with a gas head and a L20 Front plate combo already used on the diesel to gas conversion what is the displacement total out to?

No this is my 1973 (Production date 11/72) silver 240 z. I am the Third owner. It was bought by the second owner from the wife of Memphis TN Datsun dealer ship 6/73 by Dr. Richard Pharr.
