Thanks Keith , the part 'if your chassis is older than the 1974 cut off the engine must be newer than the chassis' is confusing me. This is telling me that my 71 240z, which is older than the 1974 cutoff needs a 1971 or newer engine. Does it really mean any chassis newer than 1974 ?

Keith, Then you are telling me I have to get my 68 327 replaced or I will not be legal. That is not what I wanted to hear.

Thanks guys, I thought I had read that somewhere, but could not remember where. I did not really want to replace the 327 as it ran really strong when I last had it on the road, which was quite some time ago.

Is there anybody out there that knows if my 240Z running a '68 327 is still legal in Pa ? I've tried searching the net to no avail to find the answer. I would hate to spend my time rebuilding my Scarab to find out when I'm done I can't drive it in Pa. thanks

Just wanted say hello. I am one of those scarab owners. Bought the car in '88 from a guy who did the Scarab conversion. I have all his literature, glosseys,how to ,etc.The Z was built 09/71. Engine is a '68 327 350 horse. Bored 30 over with forged pistons 10:1, camel hump heads, Eldlebrock intake and I believe a Holley 650. The engine has been balanced, blueprinted. A Muncie m20 4speed. Mallory dual point. FiberGlass front fenders. This may be one of the longest restorations going since I am now in what, my 14th year. The car is completely dissassembled and sitting on a dolly. It is solid except the passenger rail right where the sway bar attaches. I hope is to get it back together before I retire in about 3 years. Again just wanted to say hello , thanks for having this site. Hopefully,I will in the time to come be able to make some small contribution to all the knowkedge that is out there.
