  1. lmao not sure is a ford guy will be ready for some LSX power. i drive a 01 z28 for my daily driver and she has a yank 3500 vertor and long tubes with all the bolt ons so far with a cam sitting in my tool box. 228/288 588/588 on a 112 lsa and i have had no problem pulling 03 slowbra's. just wish i know then what i do know. would have one in the 240:biggrin:
  2. justin, this was the first ladder bar set up i have done, and if i was to do it again i would not bring the tunles up as far as i did. the reason behind this is i had 5 adjustments and i made sure i had plenty of room for each one. now after having the car on the track/street i would never use the top 3 unless i wanted to enter a wheelie contest. so if i was to do it again you could easily do it without even having to come up as high as i did, more like Roller's car.
  3. after i got the car from you i added new struts and cut off 3 coils thats it so far. oh i'm a buddy of jason doisher. small world.
  4. this was taken today right before i dropped the bars down to the last hole, trying to keep the front down some on take off:wink: my next choice will be travel limiters.
  5. more than likely they would be to busy writing me up for the slicks, exhaust, and so on, so i'm sure i could get by with no markers. plus could always say the car didn't come with any when it was built.
  6. dat240zg, yeah i can see you liking the black hood. very nice car by the way.
  7. ask and you shall recieve. thanks guys. i think i will remove the markers and the little z emblem behind the rear quarter glass and then leave the rest.
  8. a ladder bar is the easiest to install and set up, due to not many adjustments. but down fall is most kits the bars are 33" long. and with shorter bars will make it hit the tires harder. i pretty much am sitting on top of mine and had to c-notch the tunnel (which the bars run thru the floor) and the seat so get me back in the car. if i was going to do it again i think i would go with a 4-link just to save some room. i'm sure you could shorted the bars for the 4-link and keep them behind the seat.
  9. here is some pics of mine rear end swap, its a 8.8 about half way down on the page http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127752
  10. i checked his car out, very clean car. but i'm not sure if it helped or made it that much harder on me. lol
  11. also i have seen a few cars that have painted the hood a glossy black, i like that to. i guess you can tell i'm really not sure which way i want to go here.
  12. i will be taken it to ennis once i get all the saftey stuff installed, mainly just need to finish the cage. i had to cut a few bars out durning the ladder bar install. the car isn't even legal to run what she does. sshhh
  13. well i have a 1973 240z and i'm fixing to get her painted, but i'm not sure if i want to shave/remove the marker lights on the front and rear quater. this is a street/race car. i'm going to paint her the same blue they are now painting the new 350z (daytona blue) i think is want they call it. would like pic if anybody has any. also i'm putting fiberglass bumpers on it and thing about flat black for the grill or maybe chrome, not sure. what do yall think?
  14. i to ran into this same problem.
  15. yes sir, timing does pay a big role also, i have a 3-step retard box which handles the retarding of my timing. that way all i do is change the pills and no more messing with a timing light, cuts down on time at the track, just change the plugs for the 250 shot once i get to the track.
  16. i was just joking, this is what my buddys tell me trying to be funny, i wouldn't think he would take my statement and run with it. but if it helps i'm running a 250 shot on a stock 96 vortec motor and she has held up so far so good, but i do run 112 in the main tank to be safe on the 250 shot where on the 150 i run 93 in the main tank and 112 in the nos tank up front. i don't want that WARM FUZZY feeling
  17. i asy just work your way up and see what she will hold.
  18. http://www.thedragspot.com/view_video.php?viewkey=e926456240b2ff0100bd http://www.thedragspot.com/view_video.php?viewkey=997cdb4692d34de8633c this is a 73 240z with a sbc vortec motor, power glide, ford 8.8 rear end with a ladder bar set up. the car is a pump gas street car that is driven. i drive it to work the track where ever. on this pass it was the first time on the 250 shot:biggrin: the first video was on low bottle pressure to be safe, did not know what she was wanting to do. as you can see the colder plugs didn't get cleaned off until the hit of juice. the 2nd pass was with a little more pressure and the plugs were very clean as you will see. and yes i drove her home8-)
  19. hello, have been reading/looking for quite some time so i figured i would post some info on my ride. its a 73 240z with a standard bore/stoke 350 with vortec heads that have been worked, it has a gm hotcam wit ha 492 lift. it has a power gluid tranny wit ha 1.76 fisrt gear wit ha 3k stall. the rear is a 8.8 with a spool and 33 spline axles with 3.55 gears, it is a ladder bar set up which was done here in my garage. the best et to date is a 6.30 @ 109mph that was on a 150shot of gas. can't wait to see what she will do on a 250 shot. it is a street car which is driven to the track and has made it home on its own so far. oh and she runs on pump gas. there is some video of her on youtube look for sick240
