  1. Hi everyone, wanted to let you know that currently a sale is pending. I'll be back with more details once the sale is completed. Thanks for looking and thanks Hybrid Z mods for allowing me to post the ad here.
  2. Who said it was just FDs? That's why I said 'imports' in my post. Also, the ordinance may be on the books but only two counties (SD and Sac) at the moment are involved in the aggressive enforcement known as "Project Dragnet". I don't even know if SD is still involved but I do know our city police now do the training for the entire state in terms of modded cars and law enforcement. Sacramento also recieved a special grant of a million+ $$ to deal with the issue and now has undercover cars (2 C5 vettes and a WRX that I know of) to bait people. It seems like you know a couple things about this which I'm glad to see, but if you think Corona is as bad as Sacramento you would be mistaken. I really wish you were right though, I had two officers come to my class last week and they confirmed that Sac is not like everywhere else in the state.
  3. I'll use your avatar as an example. In this image you are the modded RX7 and the bass, pirhanna, or whatever that is clamping down on your finger is Sac police. Imagine if the only way your finger would heal is by going to a referee station. Thanks to the fast and furious movies Sac passed an ordinance aimed at imports 9 months ago making it truly a unique place to be.
  4. Thanks everybody for the kind words, it is the best car I've owned and the best for the $$$ out there IMO. Thanks Joey for letting people know about your experiences with the car. I'm glad to hear you're having fun roadracing your FD. You will be hard to beat!! As for missing the car, you aren't kidding man. You know how these cars can spoil you.
  5. The car runs great, no problems with with leaky seals or rattles. Thanks guys for the words of encouragement, it has been a great car all the way around that I will definitely miss driving.
  6. I decided to go below the radar with a Mercedes 190E 5.0 V8 ford conversion instead. You can see part of it in the last pic in my first post. It won't be anywhere near the LS1 powerplant though without forced induction. If I lived somewhere other than Sacramento the FD wouldn't be for sale.
  7. I hope the mods don't delete this because there wasn't a place for this car in the for sale section. I bought the car because it was posted right here in the Chevy section by a member a year ago so I thought it would be good for me to do the same now in case any Hybrid Zrs are interested. 1993 RX7 R1 for sale with 81K miles and 29K on the motor. One of a small number of very fast LS1 V8 conversions around. A lot of effort went into doing things right with quality parts. Very solid and dependable, the car starts every time and over the past year has been 100% reliable as my daily driver. The interior was swapped to tan leather in excellent condition from an FD with less than 50K. All gauges work on the car except the Speedo, it needs the calibrator ($85) to get it working. The body of the car is excellent with original paint that isn’t perfect but still looks good. Clean title, California car, adult owned, well cared for. Weight is 2800 pounds. All records and dyno sheet comes with car. I’m not a drag racer but the best this engine ran was a 10.9 @ 124 in the ¼ mile when in the builder’s black FD and it had 421RWHP and 376RWTQ. It has since been speed density tuned with larger injectors and now makes 442RWHP and 408RWTQ. Judging from others with similar hp/tq the car should trap 127 mph in the ¼ mile. Power is instant, response is very smooth and the car is easy to drive. Great handling and the suspension is tight with no slop. The exhaust is a work of art and sounds really serious without being too loud. It is comfortable and can be driven across the country if someone from the East Coast is interested. He was planning on keeping this one but sold it to me last year and now has a 427 LS2 in his black FD. Here is a link to the original owner’s ad from a year ago to see more pics of the car without the wheels, volvo fan, and some interior work, also pics of his 427 LS2 FD: http://www.torquecentral.com/showthread.php?t=32357&highlight=421+sale I have the A/C bracket on the motor and the compressor is included. It will need a charge and 2 lines made, JTR has been working on a kit that will make the job very simple. R1 rear spoiler also included with the sale along with a California smog cert. Gas mileage is great, on trips it has managed 25-30 mpg when comparing distance to gas receipts. If you’re in the market for an LS1 FD then a ride will sell the car. Acceleration feels like falling sideways and is very impressive on the highway. Faster than Corvette Z06s, Vipers, Porsches, exotics, and motorcycles (all 600cc, many 750cc and some 1000cc bikes). This plus the handling, reliability and fuel economy makes it hard to beat. Asking $23,500 for the car. PM me if you’re interested, I'm located in Sacramento CA. Brett
