  1. To All I Have a 78 Z, the speedo has died. I have found some on ebay but most do not have the green connector and what looks like some sort of relay (Part# 68600-AJ5000). Please advise
  2. To All I have a 350 TPI hooked to a 700R4 via Johns cars install kit. After a year in the shop the car runs great and is now ready for the roud with one exception. The speedo does not work, I did reface the gauge and was carefull not to bend or break the pin for the needle. It looks like it wants to move but does not. The mechanic took the cable core out and recheck his install and determened it wa installed properly, anyone have any Ideas Please advise 250 GTO

  4. What I did find out was the Trans servo was wedged into the beginning of the tunnel. The shop works primarily on drag cars, and is inexperienced with this type car. I had them dent the firewall in so the Trans would free up and let the engine come back to center. They did a good job banging the wall out (looks good) but said they had to put a 3/8 shim on the passenger side motor mount to make it perfect. I sent John (JCI) a bunch of pictures and his first response was to have the car checked to see if it was twisted. I did a few measurements myself and it seemed normal. Since the car was fine with the 170 HP motor I have no reason to think it is twisted. I have attached the Pics of the Trans, tunnel and the way the Trans was into the tunnel. Since the adjustments it does not look like the pictures but maybe you can shed some light on as to why I needed the 3/8 Shim. You will be able to see how un level the trans pan is prior to the alleged fix. Please advise
  5. You are sure that you have the small block mounts and not the LS-1 mounts (or otherwise), correct? Here are some pictures what do you think, John is still on vacation? Please advise
  6. I have a 78 280Z that I am installing a 350 TPI motor, I purchased the install kit from JCI. I have run into a big problem, the motor and 700R4 transmission have beeen installed. The Transmissiion is plastered against the entrance of the Tunnel on the passenger side and there is a good 4 - 5 inches of room on the drivers side. Also the motor sits higher on the drivers side which is where the problem probably originates. The motor mounts were installed per the JCI diagram in the install book. I called JCI and spoke to the guy running the shop in Johns absence (in Florida). He thought that the transmission mount was flipped around causing everything to be shifted. The installer described to him how it was installed, they both aggreed that it was correctly done. JCI stated that they buy the mounts in lots of 20 and ten sets have been sold with no complaints. If any one out there can shed some light on to what may be wrong please advise before the installer starts fabing things $.
