For my '71, I had the local high school metal shop cut one out on their plasma cutter. I gave them a pattern traced from the later style boot, including the screw holes. A real life project for the students and no cost, or skill required, for me. Win/Win!

Do you also have there rectangular retaining ring to hold the boot down? It screws to the center hump and holds the later style boot in place.

On my '71, I cut a slight arch out of the console where the shift lever hit. When the leather/vinyl shift lever boot is in place, the cutout is not seen.

What if you leave it registered in La? Change your address to a family members at the DMV so they can get the sticker for the plates for you, as you can do all the renewal stuff online. I know there's a Pagani, 2 Ferarri's, and a McLaren around here, and they are all registered in Montana so the owners can avoid taxes here. If they can do it, there must be some kind of loophole.
That works until you get in an accident or the car is stolen and your insurance company wonders why your car is insured in a state where you don't live and you've probably been paying lower rates than if it was registered in CA. Many hoops to jump through to be successfully devious.

Spring Guns and remote Claymores are frowned upon by the local constabulary.
Consider Blink security cameras - wireless, motion activated, indoor/outdoor (if protected from rain), cell phone notification when activated, and they send what they see to the Cloud so even if they are stolen, the recordings are available. I bought a set after a break-in a few months ago. I also added a very loud alarm system. Sucks that we have to fortify our homes.

I've had a G37 convertible for six years and love it. The 325 HP engine and the throaty exhaust note make it a fun ride. My experience at the local dealership has been top notch. Gas mileage isn't the best, but this is a car that begs you press hard on the "go" pedal.

You mention looking for a "new overfill" tank. That's a vapor recovery tank, not a fuel holding tank. What's broken on it?

The yellow lenses do add a "look at me" factor to the Z. But, if they cut brightness at night, you're probably better off with the clear.

Nice look and function. My SUs from ZTherapy have shipped and will arrive on Tuesday. They'll be the only clean and shiney parts under the hood. Should be an improvement over the 44 year old originals.

120-122 yen to the dollar was the norm during the '70s and '80s.
In 1971 when I was making frequent trips to Japan, the exchange rate was 360 Yen to the dollar. I could buy a very nice new Seiko chronograph for less than the cost of getting one cleaned by a jeweler in the States. The dollar went a long way in Japan in those days and I enjoyed a great two week ski vacation on one visit. Bought my Z when I got home.

Anyone have an idea about what other examples have sold for in recent years? 200K seems optimistic as the high end of the range, but that's what auction houses do to "chum" the bidding.
