I've got the 002's waiting to go on as well. Super cheap and sexy rims for the $. I'd like to do my calipers in bright green to match the theme I've got going. Since noone makes caliper paint in that colour (the VHT stuff came out too yellow) I'll be using engine paint. I know it's not rated as high as the brake stuff but I'm not really tracking the car so I figure it should hold up decent. Anyone tried this?
g2 makes bright green. http://www.caliperpaints.com/c=YdQPP6dYa155Eu21EGfJPA2RF/product/G2BCPG/G2-Brake-Caliper-Paint-System---Green.html

Finally painted my calipers. I used G2 gold caliper paint kit. They look great! Cheaper and more durable than powder coating. Its all about the prep work...
Prep work included sanding off some unwanted stamping (cleaner look), roughing up the stock caliper paint, wire brushing and spraying brake cleaner. Roughly 45 minutes of work.
I also included the caliper bolt spacing diameter for front (10cm) and rear (11.5cm) calipers for anyone interested. I should be able to rig some brackets when I get home from school.

1 fast z,
what kind of caliper mounts and/or modifications did you imply to make those wilwoods fit?
-
I did not make the caliper brackets. Luvemfast did.
Brackets and swap: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2546.0.html
I think its a decent swap. Nice machining.

Uhhhhh because they say Nissan on the side? Duhh! No, the calipers I am fitting are R33 GTS Aluminum 30mm. I was told they have much more pad area then the Toyota 4x4 swaps.
In the rear I am using 300zx 2 pot calipers...for the sheer fact they say Nissan.
Yes this build is about glitz and glam, but i believe this option is cheaper and just as effective as a wilwood conversion...if done right.
Cost so far...
Front calipers $200
Rear calipers $50
300zx 30mm 4 bolt rotors $120
280zx rotors $60
Additionally...
Will need spacers (homegrown)
Brackets (homegrown)
Proportioning valve
Anyone have faith????? Please?

Swapping R33 Skyline 4-pot aluminum calipers to my 240z using 30x280mm custom drilled 300zx rotors. Also using 2 pot 300zx calipers in rear! Will put pictures up ASAP!

Hey all,
These are for the visually inclined wrench monkeys. Post pictures of your brake setups. From stock to EXTREMELY modified!!!
Enjoy!!!

Rayven,
If we get a group buy, will the price of the c/f panels be less? say seven people?
-
280zforce,
Let us know if your panels go into production!

Yes, I have seen marks beautiful C/F door panels. But they are a little pricey. I have seen cheaper, but they were not as glassy and brilliant. As for Rayven14, he seemed to have quit making the panels last year in fiberglass. However I have not contacted him yet about them. But I will for the benefit of the collective.
Fiberglass panels would be wonderful with dynamat on the back and painted with the matching car color. Much cleaner than the stock panels in my opinion.
So anyone who reads this thread who is CURRENTLY producing or THINKING of producing fiberglass or C/F door panels, please post your products.

Is anyone making C/F or Fiberglass door panels for 240z's at this time? I would be interested and I bet there are others out there too.

I have a 1989 R-200 LSD but no half shafts. I want to use 1990-1996 300zx half shafts on my 240z. Will these work with that rear end?
-
I am having the same issue with pulling left. I have replaced or rebuilt everything in the front end except the rack. I have had it aligned twice yet it still pulls left (slightly) at 45 mph. If I jerk the steering right it seems to not pull for a few seconds then back to slightly left. I have no play in the steering. Could it be the rack itself is worn?

With a Weiand 144 supercharger will i be able to keep that under the stock 240z hood? Even if i make gretchen-jason's air cleaner? I would like to make it look stock on the outside...

We now have the same Tokico spring bound problem on the front of our 240Z. Should have searched the web before we purchased them. Anyway, does anyone have a spring they do like for their V8 conversion other than Tokico?
-
We used this diagram for our fender mirrors and it does not work. The left hand mirror is pretty much useless unless you like looking at yourself driving. Hindsight says mount the mirrors out as far as possible.

Sounds like a 17x7 on the front with 4 inch backspace which is how many milli-meters of positive offset? And maybe a 17x8 on the rear with what offset?
I am thinking 215-40 rubber for the front and 245-40 on the rear. Does that work?
Thanks from the wheel questor!
Fiberglass door panels w/speaker holes

Rayven,
I have been trying to keep up with all the posts about your door panels. The most recent ones look supurb. I too cannot PM you for some reason.
I would like two quotes... a pair (wrapped) with speaker inserts and a pair (unwrapped) with speaker inserts.
Like so many Z owners, I am sick of the decaying door panels and would like to start fresh.
Cheers.
