Hello, I am new to brakes and I am try to fix my self. I have 1980 280zx non turbo. Last week when I try to bring the car out of my drive way suddenly my brakes are not working. When I apply the brakes they go all the way no pressure. Also when I pump the same thing it goes all the way and makes a sound like if there is a air leak a noise when you are pumping air into a basket ball. So any ideas where I should be looking at? I look around the week and there is no leak of oil. please let me know and Thanks in advance. ray

I think its good to run a new wire for the speakers. I have 280zx 1980 non turbo 2 seater. Also if you search in this forum for manual then you can download them and if you look under electrical you can find the information on radio wires. Guys also if you could help with what is going on with my lights since i put my cd player on. Also i have taken my cd player out at this time and still the lights don't come up on dash when my headlight is on and the lights in rear and 4 light around the car they don't work. Any ideas?

I also ran all my three speakers its own wire and didn't use the factory wire, I disconnected. I can get the radio to work but now since i put my CD player in to my old radio. I am having problem with my dash light. My dash light don't comeup when i turn my headlight on and also the rear lights and all four side marker light they are not working.

I don't think i am getting any smoke but I see lots of black carbon stuff in the floor. When i start the car i don't look back but i need to do that as well.

My car has 130k miles on it but don't know when it was replaced last time. ray

I am trying to figure out what is causing my car to give like a vaccum when I start my car in cold times. Starting the car is not a problem it starts just fine. But after I start the car and the tempeture is below let's 70 or 75 then it needs to started for a while so that it will not give any vaccum noise when i give gas. If the tempeture is in 90 or 100 then it is just fine. I can start my car and drive rightaway and no problem. But if it is below 80 or then I can't just start my car and go. After I start and try to give gas then it give me noise like vaccum and doesn't rev smoothly. If i let the car sit there and warm up after 5 or 10 minutes depending on cold or warm weather it is fine. Also i get lots of black stuff (carbon i guess) in my muffler and my floor when i give gas to the car. So any suggestion would help? thanks in advance ray

Thanks so much guys. I really appreciate you guys help. I have installed it and it is working on my old spearker just fine and even better sound. I will take a picture and put it out here on what I have done. Also I kept the old antenna up and down switch and it still works. I would never change old radio but it was not working properly and the signal went off every couple of minutes and very rough sound. But i am happy with my new radio (jvc car cd with remote and mp3 player with bluetooth.) thanks again guys. ray 280zx 1980 non turbo. (very fun to drive)

Thank you so much for the answer guys. But still i don't know what color would be ground ? I am looking for a black wire but the stock audio wire don't have any black wires. may be i should take a picture and post here. thanks ray

but how do i know the ignition and earth then? any idea?

I am trying to replace factory radio to simple jvc cd player on my 280zx but i am not connecting to correct wire. I need to connect to power, ignition, and ground. the factory wire is cut off. I don't know what color is what in 280zx 1980 model car. if anybody know what color they are, i would really appreciate. or if you have link that have those information that would be great. thanks in advance. ray
