  1. whats up bro? LOL, how you doing

Pretty good man, nice lookin car you got there! lol

I still check here. If i find the abosolute right deal on a s30 then who knows, maybe I'll get back into it.

Sucks to hear about MSA. Have you tried Black Dragon automotive? I've got some other links I can send you, but nothing solid on the dash.

The other thing you could do would be to take a RHD 240sx dash (find them occasionally on ebay) and you could have that installed. The 240sx dash is a pretty popular swap with regular s30s, maybe you could try that?

  2. I actually have a RHD 75 Fairlady, and I can't find the parts I need for anything. Good luck trying to source enough to actually do a conversion, you'd be better off just waiting until you found one.

I know of an 80 (i think) RHD thats for sale, in pristine condition. 10k!

  3. Arnie,

I am not sure how you are trying to restore your 75 Z, but I had an idea with mine from this thread S30 Interior Clone examples

This guy put in a 240sx dash in his Z, and I thought it looked really clean. I thought about how the 240sx guys try and make their cars RHD by doing a front clip conversion, so I started looking around.

I found a RHD 240sx dash on ebay, it's pretty cheap, so if you are interested in something like that here is the eBay link.

I don't think I am going to do it, I am going to restore the original dash myself.

  4. my350z.com has lots of information, but just be prepared, there are a lot of kids who think they are hot sh*t and you will probably get some crap on there, but you will also get some good information too.

I haven't been on this site too long but I think they focus on more of the old Z's.

    Good luck.

  5. Prochargers are notorious for destroying the VQ. Turbonetics single turbo is good, other than that you just need to go with a twin system. APS is weak, Procharger will kill your car, and superchargers don't produce a good amount of horsepower for the amount they cost.

I would also say don't spend any money on NA mods, just put in the FI. I drive an 03 350Z and I am still NA and I have Injen intake, Motordyne plenum spacer, topspeed headers, strup test pipes, borla true dual exhaust, jim wolf technology S1 cams, and a greddy emanage blue, and I am only putting down about 280 whp... with the amount I have spent I could have just gone FI at the start and been better off even at low boost.

  6. lol... there is a diagram, but it is in japanese, since the car is actual JDM I can't believe I didn't anticpate that. Oh well, I will just have to get in there and see what fuses are blown.

Is there even a tachometer fuse for sure?

  7. Dunno about z's, but on 280zx's its fused. Same fuse does the oil pressure guage, and 1/4 tank fuel guage

well, i took the whole dash apart and everything is still hooked up, so its not that. I will check the fuses and see if that is it. I hope so. I will search and see if I can find a diagram of the fuses on here since I don't have an owners manual (if it would be in there?)

  8. Nissan made it real simple for us.

    240Z = 2.4 liter = L24

    260Z = 2.6 liter = L26

    280Z = 2.8 liter = L28

Later year 280Z cars that were fuel injected were a L28E, E standing for EFI.

Nissan still uses the same way of coding their engines today.

And just a word of warning, I'm nowhere near, nor profess to be, any type of Z historian. There are others on this site that know truck loads more than me. I've only been into Z's since aboue 6 months before my registration date on this site ;)

whoops, yeah, i wasn't thinking when I typed that. Thanks for the info tho.

  9. very nice! and i saw that Z on ebay

which Z? the RHD? I don't think he put it on ebay... i found it through mautofieds.com and looked on ebay. If the 350 is on ebay that is a big problem lol.

only one person running the vg30dett with the twin turbos and he hasnt solved the steering shaft issues as of yet. And theres only a few vq35de swaps up and running into an s30. Dare I say less than 5? Anyways good luck!

Is there a thread that centralizes the VQ engine issues? I saw one go into a 260 but the thread hadn't been updated for a long time. If it is that technically challenging I know a great 350Z/G35 shop I could take it to that they would help me out.

Anyway what is the major problem with the VQ? I thought that would be popular.

  10. I just bought the RHD Z today actually.

This is what the owner has told me are the mods:

Jim Cook (he was unsure) air dam

    Couldn't remember the wing

Speedshop wheels he got for $100, plus BF Goodrich tires

Dropped in 240Z engine (is that the L26?)

    Headers unknown brand

    Exhaust unknown brand

    Custom roll cage

Subs, speakers, 10 cd holder + kenwood headunit

Not sure what else, other than paint. Originally the car was white.

    The 350Z:

    I am the 2nd owner

    Jim Wolf Technology S1 Cams

    Injen RD CAI

    Topspeed headers

    Strup test pipes

    Borla true dual exhaust

    Greddy E-manage blue

    Luff M1 Wheels 20x8.5 front & 20x10.5 rears

    Toyo TIR Proxes

    Tein S-techs lowering springs

    Hotchkis anti-sway bars

Tommy Kaira front bumper (1 of 6 in the US I know of)

    Seibon TS hood

Corbeau A4 Microsuede black & grey racing seats

    Other small stuff

Dyno'd at 230whp on dynopack, estimated 280 whp on a dynojet, we'll see.

I am thinking of putting a VQ35DE or VG30DETT into the car eventually, and painting it Lemans Sunset (350Z burnt orange color).

    Any advice on those things?
