  1. is it possible that the blockaged is actually in the proportioning valve? is that common? for as i stated before the flow is inhibited directly after this valve. if so where can i find a new one? or should i just put a t fitting on the front brakes and a proportioning valve on the rear brakes? any adverse reactions to this solution?

  2. ok i have a 73 240z, and it has been sitting for some time. i have recently tried to rework the brakes, rebuilding the two rear wheel cylinders and replacing the master cylinder with a reman. the problem i am having seems bizarre and after searching i havent found anything similiar to my symptoms.

i pressurized the system using a power bleeder but found no flow at the wheel. when i opened the bleed valve at the calipers and wheel cylinders nothing. not even a spit. now if i open the master cylinder bleed lines i get plenty of flow. also i pulled the actual break line at the master cylinder and there was flow as well, now when i pulled the break line after the proportioning valve, nothing.

is the proportioning valve the problem? or is something else at play? any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. has anyone on this site ever heard of a air fuel ratio gauge that is screwed into the spark plug's threads, if i remember correctly its a british design, that i stumbled across a while back. i could of swore i bookmarked it but it looks as if i have lost it. i have been searching to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.

ps. if i remember right it had a glass tube or some kind of chamber that changed from green to red or blue as the a/f mix changed.

  4. ive been looking for some fg at a reasonable price, if you could do it i would most likely be in, depending on price. but customer care, like stated above would be worthy a sizeable tradeoff.

a tilt forward front end would be awesome.

  5. if going down this road, why not get two kawasaki h2s, bond them together, they were an old 3 banger two stroke from the seventies. could get to around 1400cc inline 6 and it would be a two stroker and would sound wicked, and would have some major power potential, plus the blue smoke rolling out the back would be a blast.

alternatively a couple of rz 500s would be cool, v4 2stroke water cooled engine. this would yeild a scary sounding 1000 cc z. hell while we are at it just get 3 banshee engines, put the 750 cc big bore kit on em and go to town. 2250 cc inline six mean machine. someone do it please.

  6. you can also go to harbor freight and pick up a nice compressor for around 400-500 dollars. steves wholesale is another great source, i purchased a 60 gallon, that is rated at 13 cfi at 90 psi for 400 dollars. it is one hell of a compressor, and i never use its potential even when running air ratchets, or die grinders, the only thing i think would stress it is a dual action sander. and by the way i bought a coleman sandborn.

  7. the motorcycle cap should not be that costly, since you could pull it from nearly any junker super bike. look on ebay there is often a dented tank selling on the cheap cheap. just make sure you like the look of the gas lid. you will most likely be on your own with the mods. have fun
