What I'm curious about is what brand/compound vinyl wrap he used for his process. There are many different manufacturers out there and their prices vary a LOT. For $120 the wrap he used cant be high quality so I question the longevity of the material, additionally more expensive materials are easier to apply (I think) making the job that much easier. Anyone know more about different vinyl materials? I might like to try something like this on my Z but would like to find a nice compromise between good material and cost, so I'm not getting the cheapest crap I can find and still going to have an excellent finished product.
I think he said his friend orders a lot of stuff from these guys http://www.oracal.com/index.asp and his friend had ordered it for him (might have gotten a good deal).
I think I might try this on my friend's POS Civic. Hopefully he doesn't change his mind.

I like the way the lights look sitting in the housing, they don't look like any other HID conversions I've seen (the googely eyed look), they look like the regular lights.

Thanks, will give it a try and see what comes out of it. Will post the results next week.

I believe this is the correct relay diagram for a 260.
I have a similar question about the headlight relay. My right headlight works but the left one doesn't unless you ground it. Where exactly is the headlight relay, is one for both lights or separate one for each. I bought the Haynes and Chilton manuals and still can't find it.
Thanks.

Thanks for the pics, looking good.

Great work Piston!!!
Would like to see a picture of the fender out in the sun, if it's not too much of a hassle.

Very impressive. I wish I had a garage, my car is in serious need of a decent paint job.

Sharp Diablo, where did you get the front spoiler?
Came with the car, the owner before gave me the same answer "came with the car"

i was told that if i was to put S2000 seat's in my S130 i would have to weld them in.............sounds stupid i think. so did u have to weld them in...... i feel stupied for posting this question but must know.
I put these seats in my 74 260 and they do seem to sit high, I might have to cut off the stock brackets below the seats and weld them in, that should take an inch or so off.

so now that everyone has that warn and fuzzy feeling can we get atleat 10 people together to get these made? It seems I cant even get 10 people for a carbon fiber console
I'd be interested, but as mentioned earlier, it all depends on the final price.

Forget See-Through rims, its all about see through tires now
These tires are made in South Carolina , USA ..SEE THROUGH TIRES
Radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.
Hope its not a re-post, I did a search and didn't find a thread on this. These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...
These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

For what its worth you can still pick new OEM dashed from NISSAN for about $1200 Canadian.
Thanks, will have to pay a visit to my Nissan dealer.
-
As above, you realise that this is in Australia? The price was $770AUD which included recovering the lid on my centre console.
If someone locally can make my dash look like that, I wouldn't mind paying $770 CAD = $931.46 AUD

I test drove the Genesis Sedan a few months ago and was very impressed with it. I would really like to buy it but I don't want to park the Z outside and wouldn't want to park the Genesis outside either.

Thanks for the update. I had been following your other thread (http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=126899) and had been wondering where you were with the project

I know that it's a little off topic, but what the heck!!! Is that a real cossie, or a sierra with a bodykit? Man, I love those things!
Bryan
Its a real cosworth (actually, both of them have cosworth engines). That thing is stupidly fast

That is a Honda S2000 seat.
Yep and it fits like a glove. The spacing all around the seat looks as if it came sock! It might be sitting a little high though, will have to see what to do with once I strip the car down.
I'll take more pics with both seats in, in the summer.

Even so, looking good while sitting!
It always gets me how huge my Z seems sitting in the garage, yet once you put it up next to another car... BAM! Tiny!
Thanks!
Yep, it seems big to me when I'm in it but when its parked next to another car (currently a 2006 Honda Accord), it seems tiny! And thanks to this thread, I did have a friend work on the carbs. Hopefully it passes AirCare (emissions testing) this summer.

Here's mine, work in progress (in theory, in reality, it just sits there )
-
Looking good, can't wait to see the finished product.

The s2k seats are very wide at the sliders. I think ~ 20" at the sliders. I've torn out my whole floor pan in my car so its not an issue on my car. If you have a 280z, prepare to mount them up high, or do a lot of cutting and weld
Justin
Mine's a 260 and the fit is perfect, there's about 1/2" space all around the seats, looks as if the seats were made for this car.
I do feel I might be sitting a little high, not sure as I haven't sat in another 240/260 to compare and my old seats were so bad that I know I was sitting way too low.
-
Here are the S2000 seats sitting in my Z. They are not a bolt in and required the sheet metal to be modified to get them to sit in the car. The trans tunnel is too wide on the drivers side of my 280z for these to fit. I had to beat that down. I'm going to be doing some welding for nice brackets this week hopefully.
I think the S2000 seats look the best!
I might be a little biased though

My brother just bought a set. He got 255/40/17 for the rear and 225/35/17 for the front, we'll see how it looks soon. I'll post pictures later.
