Ha, yes I understand about the thermostat and what the FC cooler is. I was just wondering if anyone knows much about the FD unit.
I'll be running it anyway since it is free and I pick it up tonight.
-
This is great news! I hope they hold up! I just purchased a new unit off of CL for $350. Once I get it installed I'll give my input about it as well.

So I did some searching and I found that a lot of people are using a 2nd gen rx7 (fc) oil cooler. I am in the position of picking up a newer rx7 (fd) cooler for free.
Does anyone know if it is a decent cooler? Has anyone used one? I know what I need to get it to fit and work, I just would like to get some input on the FD cooler.
This is the one I will be getting:
Thanks!

Wow yella! I am in love with your Z! Not too certain if I love or hate the brush guard (?) but the rest of that vehicle is beautiful!
Nice score!

I like it! I don't like how they have crappy spoilers and the widebody is hideous!

I was just looking at the snow buildup on my car and I thought that some of these would look killer! I hope you get them!
Make molds! I want a set!

Some of that doesn't look TOO bad but I would be upset about that piston!

Hello again! I didn't even think I had a stuck fan clutch. I knew it was noisy and wanted to go electric anyway.
Still sounds good!

I am in Columbia right now. I spend some time in Mt. Pleasant and Beaufort also. I think I remeber seeing that you lived in South Carolina but I might be mistaken.
Really! Yeah, I am spending some time in SC. I live, work and go to school in Beaufort. If you swing by Beaufort before December 20 we should meet up! Grab a bite or some coffee.

I think those are for the PC and you have to add them via mods.
Also, where in SC are you?

Tokyo extreme racer zero and 3 have 240z. 3 also has the 280zx. Tokyo extreme racer drift has them as well. (ps2) Gran Turismo 3 or 4 has an N/A s130 but you can't put a turbo on it! (lame)

I LOVE the turbo! I've driven a buddies NA zx and there is no comparing the two! Turbo all the way! Lots of potential from the L28. Yes I am using the factory BW T-5 tranny with the tri-ax. Big difference in shift speed and quality.

Some recent photos of my ZX while I'm spending time in SC.

Yes those tail lights fit on an 83!
The bushings are really straight forward. I just did mine about a month ago and I love them! I used only hand tools also. You will have trouble with the control arm bushings because the new ones are bigger than the old. There is a metal sleeve inside that you either A.) need to cut out with a hacksaw, hammer and flathead(how I did it) or B.) get use of a press and punch out those sleeves. Other than that little hiccup I had no issues.
Car looks real nice Smokescreen! I did all the smoking of my lights too. I just left the brake lights red.

I saw this about a week ago and I got upset for the poor guy who owns that Z! I am not a body guy but I KNOW I can do better than that!

If you end up replacing it make sure you soak the bolts overnight with PB Blaster. Even then, at least one bolt is almost guaranteed to snap off when you try to remove it. You might want to invest in a set of easy-outs our you are at it.
x2!!
Had one snap out when I was helping a friend replace his water outlet..thing.. I think he picked up a replacement from a junkyard for $20. Very big PITA for a very simple part when that bolt snaps!

Yeah, I noticed that too. I still can't believe it ran..
