  1. Looks like it sits really high.

Why does the rear valance sit over the top of the rear flares?

Basically what your looking at is an extended front lip on the airdam, custom front turnsignals that mount in the stock position, 240z bumpers, extended and lowered rocker panels, ZG's, lowered rear end sheetmetal, custom taillights.

I kind of like how high it sits...it's kind of like the brand new concept cars I've seen. They have large wheels, giving the look of a low riding sporty car, but manage to be high enough off the ground to be daily driveable without a huge hassle.

  2. I would be extremely interested if you do

    +1, I can't weld :(

Oh and is there any way at all that you think the steering rack could clear that a/c compressor with a u-joint or anything like that? I saw you said there would be some tight angles, but anything too extreme? My goals are for a car that I can drive to the track in the summer with the a/c running, then scream around the track...I found out how much I like a/c after I stripped it off of my Rx7 haha

  3. Damn that is tempting...I wonder if my dad's friend can weld up some motor and transmission mounts for me...I do like the stock 350z instrument cluster..damnit you're doing a good job in swaying my decision on motors lol

DO A FULL WRITEUP AND I'LL LOVE YOU LONG TIME

  4. I've been watching your built for a long time and when you finally came out with that acceleration vid for youtube I damn near nutted myself....If only the VQ swap wasn't so hard :( So it's looking like an RB25 is what I'll end up with.

  5. Whoever said noone would want a sohc ka24 motor...hahahaha I'll take any sohc ka if you're local. They respond so well to boost.

I have one friend who completed a turbo install and tune on his sohc and he puts down 320 rwhp with stock internals. Still beating on it.

I have another who put down 220 rwhp at low boost with a z31 turbo and his total cost for the turboing of his car is at about $500.

And another who's still putting his turbo kit on. He's opting for an S15 turbo he found for cheap.

Then I have one dohc Ka buddy that put down 350rwhp with a pieced together turbo kit, meth, 20g turbo, tuned ecu, safc, etc..STOCK INTERNALS BABY!!

  6. Ehh...I just don't like Armor All...my 85 BMW was crack free until I started using armorall..now it's covered in em :( All my other cars I'd use mothers or meguires products with good results. I'll be sure to keep a sunshade up too if I take her out.

  7. The car was stored outside for a good 20 years, but somehow didn't get any bad rust on it and the dash was covered in dust, but no cracks. How can I ensure it won't crack? Just weekly dash and vinyl spray? I've been using Meguires #40 on my other cars and it seems fine. Then again my other cars are nowhere near as old as this one.

  8. Hi, I picked up my 1971 240Z about a year ago and the whole time I had it it sat in my mom's garage, since I bought it non-running. Well finally I towed it to my dad's place where he has a garage that I can use to work on it. Needless to say like most, the economy has taken it's toll and I'm pretty broke now, so here's my plan for the car (Note: I'm doing 100% of the work myself...except some welding in places that have safety in mind. I suck at welding)

-Buy a L28e or L28et motor and 5 speed..hopefully a whole parts car. Going to use whatever I can find first.

    -Take out the battery tray

-Remove old engine (maybe keep it if I ever want to do a one off restoration)

-Sand the whole car and engine bay down to metal then etch primer, primer, paint, clear and pearl. (I've already got the paint. A friend of mine gave me a gallon of primer, paint, and the clear with pearl for $100 :D) It's montego blue from the 3rd generation Rx-7s.

-Remove all the suspension and sand blast everything I can get to fit in my tiny sandblaster and paint everything.

-Section the struts and weld on whatever aftermarket struts I can find a killer deal on and have some spring perches welded on and throw on some coils.

-If I have the money buy some TTT camber plates and weld those in by my dad's friend.

-Finish rust treating the interior and POR-15 the rest of the interior as well.

-Lay down some Raamatt sound deadening (Already have plenty from when I wasn't broke :/

    -Buy some carpet

-Find some cheap 350z seats or something similar to put in

-Put a new hatch strut in

-Get all the electrical stuff to work

    -Power windows and locks maybeee

There is plenty more, but I predict this will take me about a year to get up and running...hopefully before I go off to college.

Update: Finally removed my dash, now I can POR-15 the front half of the interior.

^No cancer holes :D Just a bunch of surface rust I'll treat and paint over with my POR-15 kit.

I did the rear half of the car 6 months ago...mmm dust

^More surface rust, but I don't see any cancerous rust around the battery tray.

    ^The dash is SUPER clean.

  9. Just wanting to know if this is a dash cap or the original dash, if it is the original dash I'm in luck :D Not a single crack!

^Here you can see the top area of the dash

And with a quick whipe down and plenty of Meguires #40 she looks good as new :D

  10. S2000 just aren't comfortable hahaha isn't that a requirement for a DD?

And I just feel safer knowing if I lose my balance or something backing the bike up or something i can catch myself with more firm footing. I sat on my friends Gsx-r and I can ahave both feet touching with the balls of my feet. I figure that's semi-secure. The bike I'm riding know I can sit flat footed which is really nice :D it's just slower than my Rx7 and doesn't like idling =/
