  3. Hey man Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Thanks for the support.

Here is a variable update of life for AJY

I had a GSXR I have been slowly turning into a decent Streetfighter.

    Alas no more

    from this

    314221_459648980750793_433328128_n.jpg

    to this

    Serious frame damage

    524979_474388892610135_1115923295_n.jpg

    , but I keep racing

    543984_467543339961357_162068968_n.jpg

Anyway That being said I have made headway with the insurance company on the G I believe I have closed the loop holes they are using to avoid payment.

Down side I'll need to buy a VQ for the project.

Upside I'll make 5-8 grand back for value of the G and not owe on it anymore.

Now on to what you all really care about The Z

I finally got time and money and bought the stuff to remover the Harmonic balancer

And pull out my failed wood chucks

(before you look I know it was stupid and I was desperate)

    560038_474767525905605_1050533264_n.jpg

Then I found tons of crud on my pistons and scraped that off as I am can't afford a full rebuild until this summer.

    538290_474909689224722_1854056511_n.jpg

Anyway those are all the pictures for now I'll be putting it all back together tomorrow.

Anyone have advice on where and what kind of head bolts to get I would like to just go ahead and replace all the engine bolts before the summer and have everything machined maybe new bottom end.

Also seriously debating a new fuel delivery system, I wouldn't mind advice on triple webbers (which look sweet) over a holly 4 barrel (which someone told me was an retro classic mod)

I am selling another bike of mine and will be funneling all extraneous funds into the Z soon so for the first time I can actually say money (with in reason) shouldn't be a limitation.

I don't think that the VQ swap will be any time soon as I would rather finish the suspension, body and interior first. So I am just looking to make her extra reliable for now.

  4. I spent about six months looking got mine delivered from Deland to Hunters creek for 2,400. Has normal rust and an oil leak (was an auto tragic) needed an new water pump. Currently replacing all the engine gaskets. So for a stick you'll pay more, but a lot of people were asking 3K for non running on blocks because they had a stick. I found a great deal, but this one seems like It's pretty decent as well. Just my .02.

  5. Apparently Not as popular of a post as my howdy but I figured I would give a small update

I have just been scrubbing and painting a few little things as I go. Not really in a huge rush as I am trying to put my bike together maybe sell her and also starting work and school again.

Anyway Pictures are all we are here for so I'll shut it

Thanks for stopping by sorry I haven't done a ton i'll try and work on it for you guys

  6. Hey guys so I kinda turned my poorly placed hello into a Build thread. Now I am moving it over here and it's barely been a full month that I have had the car and I am on a super college budget until I get a job. So it isn't going to be one of those I just dumped 12 grand and the car at a shop builds. But I do promise to keep the post coming for you guys (and If we are so blessed girls).

My plans for this is to make something super low in the Shakotan style, but that will be able to drift. I am hoping to have it done with in the next two years so I can hit my 50 state road trip in it. (idk how I am getting to Hawaii) I also have aspirations for a VQ35 Swap and just so happen to have a crashed G35 to donate parts from.

Here is a copy from my original post so you guys don't have to go double back for pics.

Also i have swapped to the H4 bulbs

    68602_444301875618837_219830101_n.jpg

I have also removed the ugly Bosch lights and the rear window louvers

The electric fan kit Radiator over flow and new cap are all in and I am in the middle of a tear down and gasket swap also lets me check the health of my pistons and cylinders.

Hopefully all is well and I can put her all back together in the next few weeks. Until then I am scrubbing

    and Scrubing

Well I hope you guys enjoy and I will keep posting as I go.

  7. SO I pulled one blow fuse, but am now packing my old apt and moving to my new one so almost no progress will be made for a few days.

Since this is becoming more of a build thread and less of a intro any advice on how I would go about moving to the appropriate section?

  8. Sorry I forgot the Pics

The Bagger isn't mine friends buddy brought it to me as a side project since I am a Kawi Tech, but I will have to pull the engine out so its all about the Benjamins
    The other two are though.

I honestly don't know why I didn't take a post light removal pic. Also have to see what's making the right (our left) light so dull.
  9. Well Good news I got the rest of the head bolts out without snapping any more.

I have decided to go ahead and just strip the whole top end and scrub as much of the junk in the water lines out as possible. I wish I had a cherry picker so I could pull the oil pan and swap that gasket too.

Got the H4 bulb swap done and removed the god awful halogens that were bolted to the bumper since a headlight was out. Also removed a defunct air horn and all the wiring for both systems back to the fire wall at least.

I'll def look into the kroil.

I have been slowly becoming more and more fond of this site and am starting to see why sides are drawn. You guys are much more welcoming and helpful. Plus the VQ swap has already been done over here (which saddens me as I am no longer unique, but now I can get pointers).

So many thanks from a humble Noob.

  10. I'll be finding out in a few days about the part out. And yeah hopefully it's gonna work out. Right now I am just snapping bolts left and right I feel like the last guy to take this apart didn't use any antisieze at all. Must have used salt water in every bolt hole.

I'm not looking forward to having to drill these out and praying I don't have to re thread any holes.

So far I'm down the thermostat housing bolts

One (soon to be two) manifold down tube bolts and one case bolt (the one that holds the cam shaft journals).

I've used tons of wd40 ok them tried every trick I can think of from rocking to hard yanks to slowly applying more pressure over time. It's always like it either comes off or it snaps. Seriously frustrated right now.

  11. Zcar does not have the technical knowledge this site obtains and strives for everyday.  I'm still curious what your "technical" issue with your S30 is.  This site is a very informative group of Datsun fanatics who strive for nothing but the best when it comes to knowledge for modified Datsun Z cars.  It takes awhile to learn the ropes of this forum.  Do yourself a favor as you are new and READ THE RULES!!!  These guys do no tolerate what you are posting.  Just trying to help you out.  Good luck to you.

I went and read the rules I am not sure how I am in violation. I do realize I have posted in the wrong area, but I am sure once I play around with it a bit I can move it over some how.

  12. There isn't much technically wrong with it, Just needs new gaskets (which I have been working at today) and hoses as well. Some weird issues with the dash lights flickering and a few loose grounds and intermittent headlights and running lights.

I'll review the rules I ass-u-me'd that they would be similar to the other forums.

I wasn't implying either site was better I was just saying that I will be on both as any Nissan/Datsun/Infiniti enthusiast is worth talking to.
