  1. A friend just bought a Nissan Sylvia S14 which he upgraded with an RB25DET. He also bought a Speed Limit Defencer from HKS (pictured below) because as he claims, the stock RB25DET motor is limited to 180kph and the said SLD will bypass the limitation and allow for full use of the engine.

I also put an an RB25DET in my 240Z (which will hopefully be done in January). I've been an avid fan of Hybridz for quite a while now and have never come across a need for this device. Am I missing something? Do I need this LSD too?

  2. Hi guys. I need your help.

A local vendor is selling me used but in great condition GReddy gauges (oil pressure, fuel pressure, water temp, exhaust gast temp and boost). We've agreed on the price already but he says I still need a control box for the gauges to work. He suggests I get a DEFI controller. I'm not sure what this controller is or if it's necessary. A friend told me that since the gauges already come with all the wries and sensors, there's no need for any such controller although he said he's not up-to-date with the new stuff so he could be wrong.

    I need you inputs brothers!!!

Here's a pic of the actual gauges

Below is a pic of the gauges with the HKS "controller" (on the left) that it came with. Unfortunately, another buyer had already paid for the controller. Thus the need (says the vendor) to get another controller.

    Only to find something more attractive 2 months later ... 18" Enkei K76 (8"f & 9"r) to hold 225's f & 255's r

  4. I've been enjoying this site since the beginning of this year and officially joined sometime in April '08 when I finally found a '71 240Z I could work on. Hybrid Z has been a great source of information as well as inspiration and i'm happy to report that 6 months have passed and I figure I have 3 months to go before Mazinger Z is completed.

The car was in running condition when I bought it and a big part of me constantly regrets ever having embarked on an upgrade project simply because the project has deprived me from enjoying an erstwhile working car. Nevertheless, I hope the wait, anxiety and cost will be well worth it.

I initially bought an RB20 and a set of 16" Fortran rims but have since also bought an RB25 and a set of 18" Enkei rims. I'm still deciding whether to sell the RB20 and Fortran rims or to keep them for whatever next project car i'll build.

Anyway, just thought i'd share progress updates and pictures.

  5. You may regret 15's.

    Why is that so?

    ---------------------------------------------------------

By the way, I got the rims yesterday and surprise, surprise ... they're 16's and not 15's after all.

    2 pcs 16 x 7

    2 pcs 16 x 8

I'm still deciding whether to go 235's on all 4 or 225's front and 245's rear.

Red part will likely be painted charcoal-gray.

    Here they are:
