Well been testing my 260z drift car. Need more lock, chassis stiffened, and my nitrous set up. Body holding up fine, std torque cracks. But all pretty solid. Here are a few shots. Not the the kind of cars most people build here. But built it for me not for resale ability. Took a lot of queues from my F40, my 288 and a few real GTO's i was able to inspect. Next project will be replacing the lump with a 3.O Ferrari V8. Here are a few pics. Last one is my Tow limo, i drift it too.

Decided to keep my project. Going fire it up tomorrow and drive it. Started building lexan sliding side windows. Hope to throw some paint on it in a few weeks. Before my wife gets here. Then I won't have any time for awhile.

if anyone is interested. I maybe selling my project car. I just picked up another project and i need the room and time.

The square lights? I have a set of KC lights that came with the kit. I can give you the part number

i'm going to get rid of the dash as well, if anyone is interested. I will build my own instead of cutting this one up. Thanks.

Working my way through poly I worked at Japanese auto. I cut my teeth on z cars. Before anyone knew what they were))))

I got a 260z rolling chassie with the kit. It was pretty wiped out. Hey i got an early 5 spd with bolt on bellhousing and drive shaft and a later 5 spd. Which is better?
i graduated in 85, i think i'm a lot older than you)))) Yeah i was the engine builder there at XK, built the aluminum 427 side oiler in Jasons cobra and Jay Leno's 120.

Graduated Calpoly aero/me double major. Probably know some of your professors.

If you know Slo. I used to work for Phil's machine shop, performance machine and was the engine builder at Xk's unlimited.

Also have genuine parts for the gto, lights and emblems and latches. A cobra monza cap... Etc. None of which I will use. I building this to suit my taste not to build a replica. Besides all my Ferrari friends would have a cow if I built a recreation. Purist you know))))

Born in tokyo, wife lives in Odessa. I picked up a gto project. Came with a 260z. So I stripped it. All the glass all the wiring and instruments. Everything. Came with a 240 motor. Supposedly hi-comp, big cam, all the right valve train and a triple dellorto set up, lighten fly wheel and 2 trans. Contemplating getting rid of all if it.

you picked the car up in SLO? I went to school there. Do you know if Z unlimited is still open there? I have parts to get rid of.

if anybody is interested in these PM me. Thanks
I also have the fiberglass that covers the quarter window area from the inside. They don't fit well, so i will build my own rather than cut them up.

The previously listed molds are now for sale on eBay .... no reserve.

Is this worth buying? To have? Are there more molds around?

Tokyo Drftr - those are the sad excuse for hood hinges. They bolt to the front of the body where the Z car hinges were and the you drill a hole in the fiberglass appendage sticking down from the hood. A loose fiiting bolt with a locknut serves as the pivot pont. DON'T USE THEM! The best solution I have found is to make a pair of brackets that you can mount old Corvette hinges on.
Thanks!! i think, my hood will work with the original hinge

Does this go with the car? I have boxes of stuff that came with it.

I built my rear diffuser patterned after the racing 250 GTO diffusers of the time. going to change my wiper arm to the driver side as in the original cars. Having a a blast. Just plumbed in my on board fire system. Next on the agenda is a cage. Was really trying to avoid the weight, but too much torque flex. Already cracking my body in places.
