  1. This is a rerelease of RTz's coil bracket under his permission.

Since he is not producing them anymore and zccjdm is gone I would like to bring these back to the community.

Please read this post in its entirety before ordering. If there is anything unclear, please ask.

    Block mounting points...

    coilbracket.jpg

    Made from 3/16" 6061 Aluminum.

Mount Price: $99 shipped anywhere in the US.

If outside the US, PM for pricing.

    1. Price does not include coils.

    2. Mount will require rerouting heater hose.

    3. The mounts come with a light DA sanded finish as shown in photo 2. They are ready for paint, or polishes with minimal effort.

    4. Included hardware... stand-offs and S.S. bolts for mounting to the block. All extra hardware not included.

    5. Coil Part Number: 12558693, or 2000 Chev. Suburban 5.3L

    6. Connector Part Number: 12582189 (connectors only come in batches of 4, as a sub-harness)

    7. Coils known to work with Wolf3D, Haltech, Motec, J&S, and Megasquirt. It's up to you to know if and how they will work with your specific EMS.

    Coil Schematic...

    CoilPinOuts.jpg

Pin A... can be grounded to the block, but my recommendation is the head.

Pin B... needs to be grounded at the same location as the ECU.

    Pin C... to ignition channel.

Pin D... provide a good 12 volt power source (with key 'on').

Begin with 3.5ms dwell. Test and tune for best ignition performance.

For ordering send a PM or post here.

    Thank you everyone.

  2. Can we please stop being critical of this car and anything that goes along with it and just rejoice in the recognition that the Z is getting? This can only be good for us. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Thats not my problem, my problem is i love the kit and that whole car. But its just too expensive for me to actually want to buy it.

  3. So guys i just talked to GRreddy they do not have priceing for the kit yet but they said it should be avaliable for pre order next month. One of the representatives gave me a rough estimate on the price for the kit, he said it was going to be in the $3000 range. ROUGH...... Im only going to get the kit if its around $2500

  4. they are definitely not "right," but if the fugu kit is up in that $2500-3500 range like the rest of the Rocket Bunny catalog seems to be, then I could see them being a good starting point for somebody.

I Couldn't see it being over $2500, Since it would be only a 4 piece kit from the looks of it. I'm going to take a guess and say it will be about $2100.

  5. I can't imagine there is enough of a market at typical Rocket Bunny prices for it to be a viable product, particularly when the almost-there d-brinkworth flares are $750: http://www.jpngarage.com/D-Brinkworth-S30-S31-Datsun-flares-full-set-D-Brinkworth-Flares.htm

The front of the brinkworth flares are UGLY no offensive to the creator but they are just missing something. They just look unfinished to me.

  6. Coilover conversion most likely not bolt on and if they are $$$ + cup kits even more money. A bolt on air ride kit would be time saving if not money saving.

Most of the guys on here won't bag their Z's. The one's who really want to lay frame already have found simple ways. Like this guy for example

IMO, I believe that there is no market for a bolt-on air ride. BUT I do believe there might be a small niche for one's who want a cup-kit for their coilovers.

  7. I'll soon be in the same boat with my 17x8 +22 wheels.

What is your suspension setup? If you're on stock sized springs you'll run into clearance issues on the front spring perch with a +20. You need around a +0 in a x9 (I think) to clear the spring perch. So a 1" spacer should do the trick.

I mocked up my x8's and with a +22 they JUST cleared the stock suspension setup; way closer than you'd ever want to run because they had a piece of paper width between the lip and the strut tube. And you couldn't mount a tire on it because of the spring perch. So I'll be running 1" or 1.5" spacers with my setup. You can reverse calculate from there I'm sure.

Thing to watch out for on the front is the hub bore. Its 73mm. Most wheel spacers are 66mm. Just make sure you get a spacer with at least a 73mm centerbore. I think the largest I've seen them with before was 78mm and 81mm.

Thanks for clearing things I think I'll go with 1.5" spacers all around
