wow.. ok.. well a simple yes or no would work.. but cool thanks!
-
WHAT? haha sorry Tony, dont know what that stands for..
-
so than the 280z injecters i have will work just fine!?
-
So TONY D, Do you think it would make a difference if i used the normal 280 injectors.. The CC or Unit size seems to be simmalar its just the way the ECM will see the new injectors that im concerned about.. figure some of you guys would have already experienced this and or already have done a change like this and would know if there would be a dramatic change in the way she runs.
-
OK guys .. got some numbers off the injectors.. on the electrical plugg there is a number "522" and right below that on the injector there a few numbers.. they are. "0-280-150-105" can u guys tell me anything on that?
-
so i could possible use the injectors that E.D. has but Tony D ur affraid theyre going to run Lean in an open loop, due to the ECM, correct? so how can i tell besides just putting them in to see if they might work or not.. im sure you all know that removing the fuel injection system is a big pain.. so it is odviously perferd to have the right ones or the ones that will work.. lol E.D. youve ran these injectors in your L20E correct? it would probably help if i pulled the part numbers off my old injectors too huh? sorry guys my mistake.. going trew a divorce and trying to go back and forth threw two houses is a pain.. atleast i still got my car! lol HA! thanks for the help guys.. keep the info comming
-
well, ... what if i didnt wanna go threw the hassel of cleaning the old ones? what injecters would be a suitable replacement, CC/unit wise? for example if the old injecters are lets say 160 CC/units what would be a close replacement? anyideas?
-
my only ishue is that I think there is two different types.. Or sized injectors being used.. Three of them look different from the other three.. So, that's why I wanted to just try and get new injectors. As in regards to the exact type of engine I have.. It is stamped on the block L20.. So to determine the exact from there I can give you a vin # if that would really help.. Where is RC engineering? Thanks guys for ur help here sorry it took a while t get back to you.
-
Now im driving my self crazy.. i know this information.. but for some reason when i start typing my brain turns off.. go figure i wrench by trade and am not a computer nerd, thats for sure.. anyways.. ok sorry for the mix up... Here, its a L20A.. straight six fuel injected five speed.. lol cant screw that up! lol
-
thats funny cause i sure dont remember putting the A after the L20 part.. but .. ok.. yea i know theres a difference and it is a L20B..
-
located in San Diego California.. ill update that when i get home.. im just at work now.. hahaha.. and no they have not a clue as to what injectors i need or can use.. its a 1977 fairlady from Japan and has the L20 engine and when i get to that point of the conversation with any tech out here they look at me like im nutz.. figured someone here could help.

Hey guys, i got my 280z here and i wanna possibly change injectors.. the ones that are in are look like they are actually two different types and i think i would like to just get new ones all together.. my only probelm is where the heck can i get injectors for my Z? Its a 2.0L not a 2.8L that the normal US moddels have so injectors are kinda tough to come buy..it looks like the 240z injectors are the same but i dont know the CC's they produce.. i was hopeing someone here could tell me that the 2.4 or 2.8L injectors could work.. im just worried about the amount of fuel difference its going to produce, CC's wise. Will i even notice the difference? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Transmission wont come apart... whats the problem
bigjohnsonzc replied to bigjohnsonzc's topic in Drivetrain
No i didnt remove that. . i seemd to be connected to the whole shifting bar/shaft. BLUE72 .... Thanks for that page. . it seems to me that the trans should just come apart if the picture that were taken are correct. -
So i have a five speed out of my 77 280z. Not sure on what the model is but i am anxiously wanting to pull it apart and rebuild it. The problem is that i removed all the bolts (so i have thought) and tried to seperate the pieces, but it wont come more than a quarter inch appart. I do know there are dowl pins but is there any thing else im missing? Do i have to put it in a certian gear? Maybe remove a snap ring from either end? Whats up? Any one have ideas. .

I need a MASTER bushing kit
bigjohnsonzc replied to bigjohnsonzc's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Great Info!!! I looked into it and i love how they show you exactly what you are going to buy. . The only thing, is that they look to be around $40 more then what summit offers. I dont think the difference can be that much in quality . . . Can it? Thanks Z -

bigjohnsonzc replied to bigjohnsonzc's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis

Yea i thought thats what the moustache bar was i just wasnt a hundred percent sure... thanks for the help guys... Anyone else got insite? -
Hey guys, Well ive started to work on my fairlady again. . FINALY i know... im actually taking a break from rebuilding the trans right now but ill get to that later. . I need to find a good bushing kit out there. . . ive done some reading and found there to be a few different, so called "master kits" out there but most dont really come with everything i do need. . . im prity sure ill just have to piece a kit together to get what i need but before i do that i was hoping someone here might actually know a full kit i could check out. . . I need just about every bushing there is for my baby, i think? i do have them listed below... i think thats all i need, but I do have a few questions too. . like what is "bump stop" the "tension rod" which is the "moustache bar" and will i need the "steering rack" or "steering coupler" aswell? Sway Bar Bushing Kit Front Control Arm Bushing Kit Rear Control Arm Bushing Kit Tension Rod Bushing Kit Moustache Bar Bushing Kit Bump Stop Kit Steering Rack Bushing Kit Steering Coupler Transmission Mount Bushings mind you its not going to be a race car but i would like to drive her a little wild here and there. . . no major mods have been done just a few more horses is all. . . I just dont want to be the guy who spends the money to find out he didnt need these bushings cause it doesnt fit . or isnt nessesary. . . Thanks Z Johnson

OK guys got another one for you.... after reading the suspension threads i have to wonder is Tokico springs really worth the hassel, it looks like there have been some ishues with the springs binding up or even bringing the car down lower then expected. . im looking at the kit (TOK HPK253) but if there going to bind up or give me ishues why bother? What other suspension kits would be a good choice? im just looking to improve my ride and handeling a small bit. . . another words im not the track guy here..... lol anything slightly over stock would be great! ive looked at the Eibach springs too but maybe there are some other kits out there that might have worked better for you guys... also on my rear shocks how do i remove just the shock? it looks like it comes as a whole assembly. i have attached pictures to help with my question.....
