  1. I just got the adapters from modern motorsport and my 225/45/17, 17x7.5" fit perfect. The rest of the suspension is stock for now and I used all but a quarter of an inch. I believe if you go any bigger it won't work.
  2. I'm pretty new to car engine building so I'm not all that sure on some things. Piston compression ratios and carb size give me the biggest problems. I also want to have the option to use about a 150hp shot of nitrous for the track. Forged or Hyper? How would a motor with this setup work out? What kind of torque and power #'s would I be looking at to the wheels through a TH350 and an R200 ? 350 2-bolt block Vortec heads 64cc Roller Rockers 9.73 compression forged pistons Air Gap manifold 625 Road Demon carb HEI distributer
  3. Thanks for the info. Would it be more intensive to use zx rear discs or use the kit from modern-motorsports? Which would perform better. -Jon
  4. I was working on my car in the driveway yesterday when a guy drove up and said he was into datsuns and had a bunch of zcars for parts. I did'nt really need anything except for an R200. He told me he'd sell it to me and while I was at it I could take the whole rear end out to the disc brakes. He said the whole thing would bolt right up and I'd have a stronger rear end and disc brakes in the rear no problem. Does anyone know if this would work? And if so, how much modification is involved? I was going to keep the rear brakes stock and go to an r200 anyway, but if its easy enough and a good deal I'll go for discs. -Jon
  5. Does anyone know about engines from speedomotive. I saw them advertise in "Chevy" magazine and saw they had some good prices on crate motors. ZZ4 engines look good too. Anyone know of a good place to find an Lt1 and a tranny in So. Cal?
  6. Hi, I'm a new member so let me show you where I'm coming from. I'm an 18 year old college student with a part time job and I'm building a 260z and drive my 78 280z. This is my first project car and I did a lot of research on this. I like import cars, but can't stand kid's that spend 10grand on a delsol they think is fast. I have redone the brakes w/ toyota 4x4's, put in R1 racing seats, I recently got 17" 5zigen wheels w/ 225/45/17 kuhmo. I have shaved all trim, side markers and rear bumpers. I will be shaving drip rails and adding a motorsport fiberglass frnt bumper. If it sounds good, In a couple months I will take out a loan for about $3500 and buy a 385hp 350 from mark's performance on ebay. and buying a jegs th350 and selling the 280z once its all running to pay back the loan. I will also put in a r200 and all the JTR stuff to do this and hopefully I'll stay close to my budget. I would just like to know what your guys' opinions are on this. And also what can you tell me about general 0-60 & quarter mile times? what about with 150hp of nx. Thanks a lot.
