I purchased my first z car not too long ago and have started fixing the numerous issues it came with. I have run into one that I'm rather clueless about though. I'm only allowed to pump about 2 gallons into the tank before it over flows. I ran the car dry today in my yard (fuel gauge is broken) to confirm it was indeed only accepting 2 gallons of fuel. I'm going to drop the tank this weekend and replace the fuel lines, the smell is pretty bad inside the cabin so I have a feeling they are toast. Long story short, what should I be looking for that would cause this issue while I have the tank off the car? Also what are the thoughts on the fuel gauge not working? I figure I might tackle everything in one sitting instead of taking the fuel tank off multiple times. From what I have read it can get aggravating while dealing with the fuel lines. It's an 1978 280z
