Took these pics a few days ago, 6:50 am Oct 14th with the Nikon D70s, 70-300mm lens from the front yard. There were 3 doe Mule deer in the neighbors pasture amongst the early fog. It was a beautiful morning...
Brapp... You live in god's country for sure! Great photos...

Here is a pic of a carpet kit from ClassicDatsun. The pieces that I have circled, where do they go, and how do they go in? I have a similar piece with my carpet kit and I can not figure out how it goes in the car. If you have pics in your car that would be great. Thanks.
I believe they circled pieces go underneath the seats.. That's were mine are...

$500
I'll give you $700 for it right now!
Phew... Great deal... Congrats!

Very nice find! Do you mind me asking how much you paid for it?

People like this make me sick... Keep hounding him.

Yeah, I used fiberglass. But after welding in new metal. then treating the area with zero rust. Then fiberglass on the interior and exterior. Finally undercoated.

"Hey marge!!... Guess how many boobies I seen today?... 15"!

Were the rusty pieces replaced? It looks like it was simply reattached. If you didn't you should cut out and replace whatever is rusted, to save yourself headache in the future.
Correct me if I'm wrong, just looks like the same pieces in the before and after picture.
Same piece on the drivers side... I just realized the before pic is the passenger which I am replacing.. The drivers side cleaned up nicely.

Wow. I think everyone wishes they could fall into money that easily. I know it's got heritage etc, but that sort of coin for cars like that blows my mind. It's still a rusty old tempest. I mean if it had sentimental value then cool, but I guess to some people with millions it's just a drop in the bucket.
It'll be neat to see it restored and the full story though, quite a rich history there.
Believe me... With the history on that car, It will be worth close to that in the end. I'm sure the guy who bought it knows full well what to do with it.

Best post on that thread:

pics to follow.... I was able to barter some stuff from my basement that was just lying around. Should end up costing me $40 (gas and mickey d's) in the end. He is happy and so am I!!!

My z has been in the shop for the last week getting the floor pans replaced! In the long run I'll be happy, I just want to take it out a few more times before the NE winter arrives....
Getting a sweet deal on the work so I will have to suffer through it:icon51:

So I guess when people post up a question asking why something is not working right on there car, or why it is making this funny noise, those are all bad/not needed posts?
According to the rules it says this site is "to discuss TECHNICAL topics that pertain to the modification" So only posts about modifying the cars are allowed? Not posts about how to buy a decent car in the first place or how to keep it running and operating properly?
Im not trying to be negative but this idea is a little new to me. Im on tons of other car specific forums and this is the first one Ive come across that has a rule like that. To exclude posts about maintenance, common problems, ect.
I apologize, I tried searching for the topic before hand, and thanks for giving me that zhome website 240z!!
Naaa... Nothing wrong with your post, one guys opinion. Someone else posted to check the floorpans and rails for rust.. That was good advice. I see no problem with seeking advice on buying a z here. Good luck.

Soon... Getting the floor pans/supports replaced this weekend!!!!!
Just got the heater working (some mouse built a house in there, - no AC though) Need to get another wiper motor (pm me if you have one) and the weather stripping is complete.
-
rturbo... If you decide NOT to do anything with your z... are the rims for sale?
-
sorry.... didn't see that thread.
-
man!... That looks familiar!

I'd save it.
Those are the support rails under the floor pan... $80 on zeddfindings...
-
Took a closer look at the rust tonight. Looks like the front frame rails are ok. Gonna order some new support rails from zeddfindings and get them replaced. POR 15 everything after that and move on from there!
My wife cleaned the tires and bought a new stereo for my birthday! She's got her priorities!

Where in Jersey are you? Bring it up and lets put the welder to it!
Thanks for the responses.. Rags...Thanks for the offer, I just may take you up on it!! If not, what do you guys think would be a fair price to have these replaced?
Rusty.. The front ones are in actually good shape. I am going to apply POR 15 to them and a few other spots but I think they will be ok. Thanks for the offer.
Best part about this is my wife is all for it! We met when I owned my first (76 280Z) so it's got sentimental value to her... Which is nice:)

were my friend.... were....
"were" is right.. I could have paid $8,000 for another... but where's the fun in that? If I was buying it for my wife or daughter that would be different. I got it to restore which was the idea from the beginning. "buying" a finished z... What's the point?
I will post progress pics...
list your gas prices in your area!!!!
