  1. I could definately help out on "moving day" if the time comes. Also throw down some dough. Hey Rudypooches, you need some company this weekend? I might be free and live in Oakland.
  2. Hey all. Well I am on my way with my jackstand racing car. I replaced the fuel pump today and it definately has fuel to the rail. I also have spark. And a lot of leaky fuel hoses. I am looking for people that have done the JSK fuel rail swap on a first gen NA L28. I will also see if my injectors are firing when they are pulled, which is my next step. I need to order new high pressure fuel line as no one around me has any for sale. And the Nissan dealer wants 44 dollars a foot for the stuff. MSA has it for 3 and change a foot. Unless anyone knows a place to get fuel line cheaper? What have you all done for the mounts for the JSK rail? And did you all use the stock fuel pressure regulator? Also, if I am in need of injectors, which I probably am. Do you recommend new or just get them rebuilt? I am not looking for a realy fast car yet. I'm mostly doing body work and getting it on the road. If so what is my best solution. I have searched too but I am in overload mode looking for stuff. And if I use braided line for my gas in and return lines, which my local performance place has for 7 bucks a foot and looks way cool, how do I use fittings on the rail and clamps on the hard line on the car? The guy at the performance parts place said I could just clamp them with regular hose clamps but that sounded funky. Thanks for all the help.
  3. That commercial did suck! Although I like polymer guns. I have a Ruger 9mm that is half polymer. It's nice. Not too heavy and feels great.
  4. Just to add to the thread and ask a question. It sounds like my daily driver has bad valve guides, or going bad anyway. It smokes like a mother when I start it when it is cold and cool. Once it warms up though it goes away completely. The smoke is light grey almost whitish. This is what I thought was coolant a little bit ago but now think it is oil. I just passed smog in CA too about three weeks ago and it did this right before it was smogged. So, if it smokes apon startup and goes away apon warm up then most likely valve guides aye? I need to do a compression test I know. I've been real busy. Thanks all, Kyle
  5. Who can recomend a good paint supplier in the East Bay (San Francisco area) I have gone to one in Oakland and they never have much in the way of supplies and I always feel like an idiot having to ask for stuff. Thanks
  6. So I was able to pick up one of the last made JSK billet fuel rails sold by JSK. I saw it on ebay and watched it. Ended up being only the second bidder and won it tonite for 66 bucks. Woooo Hooooooo!! I am so excited. It will go on my 77 that is on stands. Will be a while but I can't wait. I love a good find. I just can't believe the price. It was nice to have birthday money waiting to be used. Thought I would share my good find.
  7. What do you all recomend as the paint to spray on the car as you fix and bondo it? It is an indoors car ( ala jackstand racing). As I float filler and weld panels etc is there something you recomend to spray in order for me to see how good things are turning out? I guess I could just sand off anything I put on or wipe it off with solvent like mentioned. Also, can you spray 2part epoxy primer over zero-rust? That is what it is made for right? So, if I just used that as a base would I be ok later when the real primer went on? Thanks all.
  8. Have a friend send a package to you so you know when to expect it. Hell even plan it for when you have time. Wait around with a video camera out of site. That way you can film him not even calling your apartment and him just leaving the pink slip. Then you have nice proof that he is lazy. I get all my packages sent to my work now. Cause ups would always do the same thing and never come to the door. People are just too damned lazy.
  9. would love to see pictures of your ride DISCUS with the contoll arms on. And just pics of the whole ride.
  10. That is what I have heard too. Buy a used fender from the Zbarn or from zparts.com You know it will fit because it was original and it will probably be cheaper. Sure there will be work to do to it, maybe some small dents/dimples etc. But there will be a ton of work on that crappy fender anyways to make it fit well. Just from what I have heard though. Good luck
  11. cover it and put in a bucket of desicant (spelling?) that you can pick up at a local ace hardware store. It will pull out moisture from the air and you shouldn't have a stinky musty car. But definately clean it first really well.
  12. baby powder would get all gummy I believe. I would say get a good shampoo cleaner for fabric and apolstry etc. I agree with the lysol too. It is anti fungal and anti bacterial. Just a one part bleach to 10 parts water would kill all the mold too if you want to wipe everything off. And I have bought at ace hardware a bucket of desicant beads. It will absorb any airborne moisture for the future. You should have no problem cleaning it though. What a bummer though, good luck
  13. I have seen one or two around the Oakland area on the road and at the bank. Maybe they shouldn't have been out and about though. Real neat looking, and I have no idea if they were kits and who made them.
  14. Not sure if the ZX has the same type of heater controll stuff as a Z but could it be that you have a vacuum leak from one of the control actuators? Does your whole heating system work? Just a guess mind you.
  15. That car is so damned beautiful. Sell the freaking engine etc. Put in a l28et or your ls1 or something. You would be so sorry if you sold it. It's got to be like family by now. Plus you have to get it on the road so I might have the possibility to drive next to it on 580 or 80.
  16. Post them here first. Instead of setting a reserve set a sell price and see if anyone is interested. I might be interested in 240 bumbers if the price is right. Plus I hate ebay when we have the classifieds here. At least give it a few days here.
  17. You're right, you are young and what the hell. I say do it. But first make sure you write up a good business model and make sure there is a market for what you are doing. Buy the car first and test what you will do first on it and then offer them to the public. You will be out minimum cash and you'll have fun making the car faster and handle better. Once you have the parts and the market then go and get a business license and insurance. Save those for the last since it might not pan out and it will be less money spent. Good luck
  18. Motorsport Auto and Victoria British
  19. I had to pull the whole fuel rail. It was the easiest way for me. Can't really do it one at a time. At least easily. I have done it though and don't recomend it. First let the pressure out of the system. Then disconect all hoses that attach to the fuel rail. Then remove and replace injectors and hoses if they are old. I am sure someone has a better solution or can explain it better. But that is what I did. If you replace any hoses make sure to get the correct size. Some are a bit too big and leak.
  20. I used a cut off wheel on my angle grinder. Man was that easy
