idk because both of the ends screwed up to the connectors fine and the tine inside that spins went into both sides alright.
the cable did have anotch and it was a bit big but i worked w it and it fit into it n no the speedo hasnt worked since ive had the car. also this gauge cluster is out of the parts car

soo ive been tryin on this for a while. my running z is a 7/82 car and my parts z is a 6/83 car my speedo cable for the runner was broken and had hung down and gotten skinned on the pavement so it was junk. i took the one from the parts car and put it on, it hooked up fine to the speedo but wouldnt connect to the tranny for the life of me. so i fiddled with it for a while and still nothing. finally i ended up buyin one from zcarsource. so today it finally comes and i jack the b*tch up and go to work. connects to the tranny like a dream and connects up to the speedo alright but i go to drive it and still have no speed. WTF anyone have ideas? im thinkin i might just get an all new speedo and make my own instrument cluster but then again thats a bunch of money that i dont have. and of course right now its 2am n ive been messin with the z, my dakota, and the mustang all day. everything else has worked well but the z its just not been a good day.

The 'problem' is not that the V spec is too expensive, the problem is the standard one is too cheap. So maybe Nissan could narrow the price gap that way
Anyway, bring on a TT 370Z.
you cant really say that the gt-r is too cheap theyre making it so its "attainable" but if you look at it this way you want them to raise the price on the gt-r.. if they did everyone would flame it and all but realistcally the gap problem is fixed with the price of the 370z..
i think they are charging a bit too much for what it has. especially with the auto-market where its going we could probably say that all new production pride cars are priced a bit too much. dont get me wrong i love the new 370z and i hope no chache-bag 350z owners [not every 350 owner is one] get their hands on one. but im with you guys.... BRING ON TT!!

yeah dont quote me on this but im guessing doing a z31 or z32 swap cost about the same and requires the same amount of work as doing an rb/sr/or vg swap?? idk dont quote me!

i agree. your first bad move was spending 2.5k on a freakin sound system. not to bust your balls but slow down and think first. were here to help not to knock you down. but that $ for the sound system is allll gonee now. the only way youll get SOME of that money back is if you find some jackass in the hood and tell him its more than waht it is and sell the system that way. my preference is take a baseball bat to it all and learn the lesson. the car will sound a HELL of alot better than a damn song if you wouldve been smart n put that $ into say the engine or suspension or exhause or paint or what the hell ever. like you said tho its your first car your just learning. but datsuns arent meant to be cars for bumping there meant to be badass
but honestly ill repeat it like everyone else LEARN AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. btw dont buy seat covers or sweet lookin floor mats from walmart that are on clearance spend $ wisely. the car will greatly reward you in the long run -

Alright so I've seen one badass s30 online with different headlights. I'm not saying swap supra headlights onto an s130.. Lol everyone just threw up in their mouth a little bit haha. I'm just saying like the same round originality but just something different than the stock ones. Any pictures of custom z or zx headlights?

hey whats up im Wil im from Ohio currently in Pa and just bought my first Z's. one is a parts car and one is the runner. i will post pics of both Z's. its rough but shes beautiful to me and definitely has potential.. she runs great though.....especially for having 242k

thats amazing. thats the scheme i thought of doing with my 280zx. but what i was thinking of doing is making it a little darker tint on both the body and the stripes

project 460zx
in S130 Series - 280ZX

no its no getting a 460 big block. the name follows the datsun name. its getting a 4.6l sohc mustang motor. project has been piecing together for the last few weeks. got the engine and harness, finally got the zx into the garage and started disassembling it, as far as i am right now i have a few other things left to disconnect and then im ready to pull the inline out of the beast.
im still prepping the 4.6l and putting all new seals into it. it looked like it had been in a dirt pile when i got it but i cleaned it up and am getting ready to paint some pieces and coat some others...

cleaning with the intake removed.
found out these are stock replacement heads with new cam,valves, springs, timing gear etc. the only thing i dont know is how long theyve been on the engine.
a little bit of weight reduction.
as progress continues i will update more.
