  1. Does anyone remember a post made by some kid and how he stripped the interior out of his street car, sprayed it all while, and did some other adds. I just remember it being really clear white interior but super bear. This could have been and couple years ago..

  2. I've got a 1972 240Z that's got no rust and is about 80% straight.(dents etc.) I'm trying to get an idea on how much it's going to cost to get a nice "drivers" paint job. I'm looking to get the car all straighted up and some nice paint on her. I've been to a few different places and have gotten quotes from $2000-$10000! I'm not looking for a show car but something that looks really nice. Anyone have any examples or thoughts to what this should cost?

  3. Hi guys! Just thought I would post up in a couple spots. I went to the car show today here in Austin Texas. It was a great show but there was not one Datsun. I drove mine up to the church across the street and got a lot of people stopping by to say how much they loved the car. Anyone in Austin please chime in! We need to start meeting up! I know there's the Capital Z Club but I would like to see more.

  6. Alright, the car runs and drives for 2 weeks now and no major problems so far. Cam is alittle lopey, but that's cool because I like that sound. The car is a bit loud for my taste so I might add two Dynomax bullet mufflers under the car in the near future.

The power and torque is available EVERYWHERE. Doesn't matter what RPM or speed, it wants to move.

Traction is a serious issue. I thought I had traction issues with BBZ, this car is straight scary at times. Even if I slowly roll into the throttle it will still blow the tires away up until 50+ mph. This is with 245/50/16 tires btw.

Nitto Drag tires in a 17 inch. are keeping me chirping along in first and a couple of chirps in second but still launches hard on the street and does really nice. The only thing that sucks is the handling is not as good in the turns and high speed.

  7. Yeah to make an airdam in reasonable time would need something like an english wheel or perhaps even one of the phuematic hammers. Im sure you can do it the way with wood and hammers but it might take a while.

What are you thinking about conceptually.

Really all I'm doing is trying to seal the air spaces and get good air flow into the radiator. It would be nice if it looked pretty.

  8. i also agree with Boy of Oz. but on the other hand, the only way you'll ever get good at somthing is by doing it. i learned to work metal by getting a bunch of scrap metal and making stuff. plus there is no real need to get expensive equipment. my secret is wood. i get a block of wood and cut it and carve it into a shape that is close to what im making. than i fasen the sheet metal to it and pound the metal down around the wood to shape it. than once its close ill use the smaller hammers and anvils to fine tune the shape.

basically what im sayin is give it a try. you never know.

I'm for sure going to give it a shot. I think I'll do the cardboard route and play a little. If I do t like what I end up making I'll pay someone. Wood!! Got to go buy wood!!

  9. I'm going to be building a airdam for my 240Z. I bought all the sheet metal, rivets, etc. but I have little to no experiance bending and cutting metal. I'll be doing it in my garage with hand tools I guess. Can anyone give me advice when it comes to bending and shaping sheet metal? Thanks...

  10. My new wheels have arrived. the offset will let me use stock wheel openings

Fuel cell is done.... waiting on door bar swing out parts to come in currently back order. Once they come in and are installed the chassis part of the car is done !!!!

Wow!! I love those wheels!! Just look at that shinny lip!! Bling...
