  1. This is what I suggest. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/83647-lsxsrrb-throttle-cable-setup-lockar-custom-bracket
  2. No vibration issues on the set installed on the 240Z above and I had an extra set (from MSA) that a friend installed on his son's 510 and no vibration issues there. Now, the mounting plate is far from ideal, but it works. I'm looking at coming up with a better installation of the plate to mount the mirrors to.
  3. I think the size is good for a Z car!
  4. I got one of these big color diagrams that is laminated, which makes it very easy to work on wiring. Definitely worth the money! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320343187384
  5. I've been referring everyone to go that route, as it is the easiest and cost effective way to go!
  6. I think that it's worth the time & effort to just got with the JCI setup. Here's my car:
  7. Go back to the very first post in this thread and it's pretty straight forward as to what you need to do. If you want to use all 6 new clutches, then you take out the two existing ones and use all 6. If you retain the 2 OEM clutches, then just add the 4 clutches in the positions in this picture. This is how it's been done with the 100+ units that people have done over the years and not a single problem to date. (that I'm am aware of) Hope this helps.
  8. The LSX swap will make for a better driver, IMHO. More torque, better mileage and if it will make for a good daily driver really doesn't have to do with the drivetrain. If it's a good driver with the 6 cylinder, then it will be good with the LSX. If it's a "bucket of bolts" and not nice to drive, it really doesn't matter what is powering it. It's a matter of if you can see driving a Z every day and if it suits your needs. Just my simplistic view.
  9. At least you figured it out! I hate when that kind of stuff happens! At least I replaced ALL wheel bearings during the build.
  10. I was fortunate to go out in a new Corvette Grand Sport for a "Test Drive" article and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It has a MUCH nicer interior (should come that way in ALL Corvettes) and with the automatic w/ paddle shifter, it was a nice car to drive through town and with 436HP on tap, it got the job done, too. It does have upgraded brakes, but is not quite a Z06. I drove a C6 Z06 and that is definitely a street legal race car, but not something I'd want to drive every day. The Grand Sport is a great "middle ground" Corvette. Of course, most don't have the money to spend $60-70k to get a car that does almost everything well and still gets good mileage on the hwy. As for getting an S30 to be both, dealing with old technology and trying to get road noise levels down with the old school suspension is next to impossible. Like BRAAP said, put newer stuff on the S30 body. My buddy has an M3 we wants to put on a C6 chassis (with definite modification) and he's the same guy who just bought a new Ferrari 458 and says it's the best car he's ever driven and is tempted to gut it and put in a cage, so he can go hit the track with it! It's always a compromise, I'd say!
  11. I had a set of those at one time and they were made by Western. Those are vintage, for sure. The look pretty good but are not good for any type hard driving, as they have ZERO brake cooling and I cooked my brakes in no time when driving hard and would not work for track days. Just my 2 cents.
  12. They are $25 and includes shipping. I went ahead and hit the "Go Button" and have a batch ready to go. For those who want it, just make payment via Paypal to savageg@wwdb.org and include screen name and "Throttle bracket" in the message, along with verified shipping address.
  13. I hate to have the throttle cable snake across the top of the motor. I like how this setup allows you to run something more clean, as the cable goes along the firewall and then forward along the fuel rail. (and under the covers, if you have them) It's more out of the way and easy to disconnect, if needed. Just my 2 cents. Also, I'm having another batch made up of these in stainless, same as before. Let me know if anyone wants/needs them.
  14. I could have another small run of them made up, but haven't had any requests in some time.
  15. I could have another small run of them made up, but haven't had any requests in some time.
  16. This is the setup I came up with and sold a handful of brackets. (Don't have any left)
  17. The truck accessories sit a bit farther forward and the Corvette setup is definitely different than the Camaro accessories. Not sure if truck & Vette are the same, but sure that they are different than Camaro.
  18. Yep, that is the setup I've seen & heard on other V8 Z cars and it sounds good. Will have mine done just like that shortly. I bought a full mandrel exhaust kit and will do most of it myself. http://www.mandrel-bends.com/catalog/
  19. Unlike everything else out there, they are still $50 for a set of 4 and $75 for a set of 6 and includes shipping in the USA via Priority Mail. Just got a new batch, so "come & get 'em".
  20. Yes, I have another batch that just got done today, so I've got you covered. If you've read the link, you actually upgrade for a 2 clutch to 6 clutch setup. The Nismo unit has 4, so it's a great upgrade. I've sold many sets and have not had a single issue over the last few years since I started supplying them to everyone. Oh, you are lucky to find a CLSD, for sure! Good for you!!
  21. Looks ready for a 4 clutch upgrade and you will be good to go!
  22. I've been thinking of doing a paddle shifter setup in my car. Maybe in the next few months. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/764919-paddle-shifting-4l60e-4l80e.html
  23. Let's hope they make up a set where there aren't spark plug wire interference issues, as well. That's just stupid!!
  24. I just picked up another small batch of clutches for anyone who needs them. Let me know and I can get them right out to you, as I have a few sets available.
