  1. slight change in plans on the tranney. I ordered a used t56 from a 2004 GTO with 23000 km on it it comes with flywheel clutch pressureplate hydrolics shifter and all the boults for 1600.00 so I coulden't pass it up.

built an engine cover this week. started by covering the motor with plastic then with masking tape 2" and then fiberglassed the top half of the entire engine and then moulded it in up to the breather. looks pretty cool so now I have an engine cover and a base for a breather. I used a AC cobra style breather because it was the largest i could find. Hope it all fits under the hood but if it don't I guess its time for a custom hood and I love CUSTOM.

  2. NOOK&TRANNY have the flywheel then all you need is a ford disk(31 spline) and I think any chev pressure plate for a four speed will work. should be able to nget a good pplate and disk for $200.00 The fly wheel is about $400.00 Belhousing if you can't find one is $300.00 tranney is $1700.00 if you go with the big one and hydrolics are $100.00 or better. so about 2700.00 I guess that if you can get it all from kisler for under 3000.00 than its probibly the best then if you have any problems than they should be able to help. what did you think of their warranty pretty good aye.

  3. no I don't know anyone else selling these transmissions. You can use the old muncie belhousing as long as it is the big one. they can also be retrofitted for a hydrolics. I think if you look around you can save some money on a clutch and pplate. I think there are some choices for a flywheel to.

  4. I got the front acc drive system solved today. worked out well. I used a altenater and ideler from a early 90's chev pick up. I will post some pics. tomorrow. Incase everybody hasen't noticed I cant spell worth a dam but hey knmowing how to spell won't make my car faster will it.

  5. I have decided on a different cam. Iam going with the edelbrock carb set up so I chose one of their carb specific cams EDL 2216 adv dur 314/322 lift 540/540 so I think the springs should be ok. For the other cam I would definitly go to a different spring but thanks for the heads uppp.

  6. sas1971@live.cawell I got the motor together today, put the truck oil pan on for now till I find a car one. I really like these ls engines they are well thought out in how they are put togeather. Next on the list is to fab up a pully system. ha I like a challange. I am going with the edelbrock carb set up so i got one of their cams They recomended the EDL 2216 adv dur 314/322 lift 540/540. The engine is a low miles 5.3 stock heads with Z06 springs. I honed it ,put in new rings, mains and rod berings. new edelbrock double roller timing set and new gaskets.
