  1. Jim,

You don't have to cut the transmission brace on the driver side. On the passenger side you will have to and you will have to hammer the passenger side tunnel also. But before you do that I suggest you to put the drive train in and bolt it up to the engine mounts. Then raise the trans and see where you need to hammer. After everything is cleared you can bolt up the trans and then you can install the A/C and accesories. Once it is bolted up you can get your measurement for the driveshaft. You will also need to hook up the shifter and linkage also and this would be the time. Hopefully by this time you will get your harness back then you can start routing the harness thru the fire wall and find a place to put the PCM. Man you're still got a lot of work ahead of you. You have to plan everything out ahead and write everything down like I did. Otherwise you will not know where to start when you look at the car. Shoot me an email of you plan maybe I can help. GL

  2. Hi Vinh,

It is great to hear from you. It sure seems like you are making a lot of progress. I showed my wife some of your videos and she really liked your laker pipes. : ) I am not sure how I am going to run mine, but right now I guess I should worry more about getting my stuff back. I contacted the consumer protection board in NY and they sent him a letter. I told him on Monday that I just wanted him to send my stuff back to me. Of course, he said " I will see what I can do." Which really means , what ever leave me alone. Any way, I bought the a/c lines, compressor and drier from John. I am going to mount it tomorrow. I am hoping to test fit the motor soon. Do you know if I need to do some clearencing on the tranny tunnel for the 4l60e? I cut part of the brace off on both sides, but do I need to bang on the tunnel? Well, I had better go. I will try to catch you again later.

    Jim

  3. Hi Jim,

Yes it's been awhile since we talked. How is your family doing? How is the project coming along? I just got back working on my Z. I am making good progress on it. I got the undercoat and the sound deadener off and fixed a few rust spots. I just redesign my LS1 engine crossmember and bolt the engine back on. The engine now move back 1/4"so I have to slot the mounting hole in the floor. I have to put the exhaust back on and the stock crossmember back on to make sure everything still clear. After that the engine will come out for the last time and I can start painting the bottom of the car and the engine bay. I am hoping to finish this project up next summer.

How far did you get with your project? Did you get any luck with the guy who took your hearness? Let me know if you need any help. I gotto eat my late diner now. Talk to you later.

    Vinh
