So i recently finished my brake upgrade, i converted the rears to maxima brakes,and installed a brand new 280zx MC and 280z brake booster, i do have low vacuum at idle (10 inches) , its a 383 SBC. My brakes go all the way to the floor, and the stopping power really is not that great. Ive bled the brakes with the car running above idle so it exceeded the needed vacuum for power brakes and bles them with the car off. I never changed or removed the proportioning valve.
Any suggestions??

maybe a little over half is in contact with the rotor. the piston is definitely not going to like that..

so i did notice they have a "Swap Kit" , that's sold out, that uses a 300zx rotor. I bought just the brackets and was told to use the 280zx rotors. it looks like stock 280 zx rotors are 272 mm diameter , and the 300zx rotors are 290mm. I'm gona try picking up a set and see if it fits.
I contacted msa, they told me the same thing again , " use 280zx rotors".

So I purchased these rear brackets from MSA, I installed everything they said to use , 85’ maxima calipers/pads(rear) , 82’ 280zx rotors(rear). It all mounts up fine, but the pads are only using about half, they don’t seem to fit all the all the way down using up all the rotor surface??
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Thank you everybody for your input.
So im thinking its the pushrod,i never did adjust it.
I did bench bleed the MC. And i re-bled the system again yesterday and got quite a bit of air out . the pedal is very long,and it only just starts to kind of stop at like 1/2- 3/4 the way down.
Most of the time i can get the pedal to get firm when bleeding but when I add vacuum to the system the pedal goes all the way. Im going to pull the booster, and check the rod/reaction disc!
