well i haven't really TEMPERED with someone elses valve cover before like make them all smooth i HAVE seen that done before however the job wasnt that great on the ones i saw mostly because they were home custom made with hand tools. i use big ol machines for my parts. i guess i could TRY it out on yours if that's something you want to do. however i would not be held responsable if you are not 100% satisfied with the shaving of letters. as it would be my first go. i can tell you it would come out looking great and shiny. but its really up to you as i can DO the work but it woul dbe my first go. after this. i woul dhave enough experience doing it to say i can do a fair job im the kinda guy that it takes ONCE to learn to do something right. id give it a go for $110 POLISHED results
