Looking to rebuild the l26 that came with my 260z. In terms of build I am not looking for the most HP, just something that has great throttle response.
I was reading Datsunzgarage and his modifications on his shaved p79 head with f54 w/ flat tops. In theory I was thinking this could also work with the l26 since it already has flat top pistons and from reading his site the P79/P90 heads work well with Flat tops. I was reading another thread on here and valve clearance was a possible issue but wasn't confirmed. Is anyone running a shaved p79 or p90 head with an l26 bottom end?
P79 mod:
shaving the head .080"
- installing 1975-78 L28 valves which have .080" longer stems
- shimming up the cam towers .080"
- shimming up the spring bases by .080"
