  1. at my work we deal with Town Center Nissan, who is getting 4 GT-Rs...two are sold, the other two are showroom...

needless to say, in early July when they arrive, we get to be there at night when they come in

and they are selling them for WAY more than MSRP...all because of one thing: because they can, and people WILL pay

i forgot how much Lee told me they are going to put them out for, but its over or around 100k$

still havent seen one in person...they had a silver one at the Z nationals i think...

  2. Are they really rubbing the suspension and the body? If so, I'd be calling the wheel man. for a credit or trade-in. You shouldn't have to buy coil-overs and flare a car to make a set of wheels work (and that's assuming you don't have coilovers yet).

Can I ask what you are doing to get a 13 sec quarter w/ a 280 n/a? Is that 13 flat? I'm running a Rebello 3.0 and have to rape the piss out of it to get a 13.6. My speed used to be about 104 and it has dropped 1-2 as well. I made some changes and don't seem to be able to find my way back. Currently Weber 45's/MSA 6:1 Header w/alot of cleanup and rewelding to match port/2.5" exhaust/MSD/ late ZX 5sp with a 4:38lsd. Car seemed ALOT happier in the quarter mile with the stock 4sp and 3:36. Any suggestions?

And Twincam 1 Fast Z- Maybe you can answer my previous Q? How does the car handle with the wide rears and narrower fronts? Are you able to adjust suspension to neutralize or does the car understeer with that setup?

    Thanks ahead.

no its not 13 flat..it was 13.9 @ 103 mph i think....that was with my old N42 head and cam combo and low compression on one cylinder....

right now ive got a good block @ 240psi across the board, a shaved P90 head (2.5mm) and a stock cam and its decently faster....all i need now is a good camshaft, and i bet i could be in the mid-low 13's....but ive got a custom intakemanifold by Lonewolf (spork) and SDS fuel managment...

when i took the head to get shaved, i said 2mm which was a mistake...it had allready been milled .5mm, so now ive got to turn my timing down as i have way to much compression...i need to get a thicker headgasket, or stack two stock ones like norm did....

i cant get more than 29degrees timing with pinging to hell :-(

  3. whats wrong with being a battleship

like i said...the guys at MSA said if i dont like the way they look, then i can ship them back....no charge for restocking or anything...

so when they get there friday, i think im going to order them...

i just wish people had pictures of STOCK Zcars with the ZG flares...

  4. I wouldn't, it will work but not for very long. Gates say in their catalogue that their fuel hose definitely isn't to be used for oil. Trans cooler hose I'm not so sure about, it might be alright.

you work for a parts store? we stopped carrying gates and switched over to dayco (kinda a bad idea) but im curious about something:

dayco's prices for tranny cooler hoses is more expensive per foot (our cost) than F.I. hose is.....

i trust you've seen the difference between the two...on dayco, all it is is the lining that the hose has...looks like the tranny one is green (synthetic?) and the FI hose is white (cloth?)

i wonder what is the difference? fuel eats through rubber quicker than oil does....hmmmm

either way, i'd use a hose that's used for oil....not fuel....only beacuse of the name

  5. if i installed the flares, i wouldnt need to roll them...id be whacking them off....

    oh wait...cutting them off

    like i said earlier:

    a. i dont have a fender roller

    b. i think flares would look good

    c. all i need then is the mirrors and i have a fairlady wannabe

for the amount of time it would take to find a fender roller and do it, i would much rather just purchase the flares....MSA said i could buy them, tape them up and see how it would look, and if i dont like it, send it back for a full refund...

besides, the flaring option opens up different wheel options :-)

  6. ok..let me rephrase...

they are hitting the side wall horribly if i go over speedbumps to quick, or the car just sqats about an in in suspension travel when i drive over humps in the road....

the edges of the tires are chewed up....i could have rolled the fender, but i think this will be a nicer choice....

the sportmax's sit out further out than stock wheels due to offset...

  7. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/627178349.html

*sigh* i guess the other night when i was in my hiney keg i got a DUI and then put my car up for sale for a very low price....

needless to say, when i got home, i had like 4 voicemails and people were like "dude, i want to come take a look, when can i come down"

    i was like, "wha?"

then it donned on my that my friends like having some fun....nice little april fools joke....

i mean, they could have at least asked 11k for it, then i might be interested

they could have updated the pics too..my grille is black and ive got the vortex generators :-(

  8. I have found the original oem ujoints lasted the longest. the "hollow" greaseable ones seamed to be the weakest.

yeah, percision makes a non-hollow one that is still greasable...the nipple is inside one of the end caps with the needle bearings....

they are a little more expensive, but they are better...they end in P/N G...

i think 187s are Z car ones, im not 100% sure...and the "nice stronger ones" are 187G with the greaseable end caps..

  9. probblaly already said, but ill add some info...

lets see...ive broken about 4 pairs of halfshafts in my car...thats right....8 ujoints let go...

some at 40mph, some at 0 doing burnouts....

the 40mph ones bent up the lower control arms a little bit, but nothing that id worry about....just the inner lip where the rear sway bar bolts too...but its a loud, MASSIVE clunking noise....

never had one let go at highway speed....

funny thing is, some were old shafts, two were rebuilt with Spicer joints....

the ones i have now are rebuilt with new grease everywhere and Percision ujoints....

  10. did you ever dyno the old setup? you need to throw this one on to compare!

sometimes i kinda wondered what would happen if you took an LD intake, cut the runners off almost parallel with the head, then cut the rest of it off of the main plenum, then welded the plenum to those runners, placed the injectors on the top...it'd be a cheap alternative to the stock Z-car intake....

    hmmmmmm
