    240z Front Gland nut Issues

    I ran into this problem also when I purchased a pair of struts with Koni shocks installed.

     

    What you need is a Gland Wrench. There are several tool companies that sell one, (OTC, MAC, cheap knock-offs).

    They are not cheap but if you shop around you can get a decent price or perhaps you can just borrow one.

    This is what I was told when I was taking the course to obtain my permit. In California, if you do not have a concealed carry weapons (CCW) permit, under no circumstances can a loaded gun be transported in a vehicle. The gun must be unloaded and secured in the trunk or in the rear of the vehicle. It cannot be within reach of anyone in the vehicle. The glove box does not constituted as a secure area. Also, any ammo or loaded magazines must be stored separate from the gun. It would be best to have a locked container for the gun and separate bag for the ammo and magazines.

     

    I was also told to never volunteer that you have a gun in the vehicle, regardless of whether you have or do not have a permit. However, if the officer asks you whether you have a gun in the vehicle you should always answer truthfully and show your permit if you have one.

     

    California has some of the most stringent set of laws concerning the ownership of handguns and guns in general, including the transportation of them. Furthermore, it is extremely difficult to obtain a CCW permit in California.

    This Microsoft article only covers Windows Server 2003, XP or 2000. But you could probably find a solution for other versions of Windows.

     

    I have successfully used this method. However, it is not for the faint of heart. One more thing, you will have to have the Windows installation CDs or disk on hand.

    Hood Hinges...

    I ran across this website that sells the g-nose hood hinges. I don't know anything about them. In the photo the hinge appears to be well made, however, I don't own a g-nose hinge to compare it with. Perhaps someone who has purchase from them can comment on fit and quality.

    ATI or BHJ damper?

    Thanks Jeffp for clearing that up. I have not done any checking with ATI to address the issues you mentioned. However, I doubt that any changes have been made.

     

    So, it appears to me that the BHJ damper is still the best solution and worth waiting for. Furthermore, I was not aware that BHJ was working on a trigger wheel version, which to me makes it all that more attractive.

    ATI or BHJ damper?

    I know Jeffp has been working with BHJ to have a damper made for the L6 engines. And, I believe Rebello already has a single ring damper available from BHJ.

     

    However, ATI Performance Products currently has a damper available for the L6 engines with a two or three ring option. I have not seen any discussion of the ATI damper as a viable solution and was wondering why. Does BHJ make a better product over ATI? Or more specifically does the ATI L6 damper have some problems?

     

    I, along with everyone else have been waiting for the BHJ damper to become available. But if the ATI damper, which is already available, is a good product then maybe it could be a viable alternative.

     

    Perhaps Jeffp can chime in since he has researched this topic.

    Short Throw Shifter for 79'Zx?

    Shortening the shifter does not make it a "short throw shifter" only a shorter shifter. A true "short throw shifter" has the pivot point changed from where the shifter attaches to the transmission and the engagement point into the transmission.

     

    There is nothing wrong with shortening the shifter, however, it should not be identified as a "short throw shifter" in function.

    JTR Lower Radiator Bracket Dimensions

    Can someone that has a JTR lower radiator bracket be willing to measure their bracket. I need to know the total width of the bracket and the distance between the top of the side flanges and the bottom of the bracket. Would like to see if I can use the JTR bracket with my new aluminum radiator.
