  1. It just really sucks that i put a roll cage, fully gutted it and put some sweet seats in.

     

    Would a 1980 280zx work with my conversion set up?

     

    like Driveline, Motor Mounts, Exhaust work????

  2. I am thinking i will have to cut off the front/ weld in a new one.

     

    I am so crushed by this :( I just got done painting and put memory foam in the bride seats...... CRY

     

    Well my friend is a machinest.

     

     

    It would be great help if anyone shows me some links of people that tubed the front. :)

  3. First got the cheapo steel huggers, would have gone stainless but failed to find them at the time.

     

    I coated them and heat treated them, and put exhaust wrap on. This seem to keep the heat out rather well.

    I do however have the bigger upper hood vents on my 280 and also plan on doing side vents out the fenders.

     

    Touch your headers after the engine is warmed up....i can :)

  4. The reverse problem is because there is a breakthrew plate in order to get into reverse. This is electronically controlled. You can make

    it work with a button shift knob, or even by messing with the springs.

    Some even wired it to their BRAKE, so when you brake your can reverse!!!!

     

     

    I did none of that because it doesnt bug me.

     

    I dont know about the rest of your problems though.

  5. Well As promised, i will start posting the fruits of my labor.

     

    Quick summery...

     

    The car still needs some wiring like signals, running lights and such. It has 3k hid's, that tempature color is yellow which really looks awesome on this car for some reason. Still need to upgrade my fuel system for a return style regulator!! Other then that its great! :D

     

    Dart heads with angled spark plugs

    Demon 680 or something?

    compression 10 to 1

    Medium cam

    all forged aluminum internals

    Thats pretty much all i know for the engine.

     

    Got the radiator off a 90's corvette

    Upgraded most rubber to poly

    shaved the blink blinks and ET :o

    Trans is a T56

    6 point cage

    bride low max seats

    Exhaust is duel 2 1/4 to duel turbo mufflers. H pipe is right after the output shaft.

     

    Dry ice worked AWESOME for getting rid of the sound deadening material!!

    Also would be interesting to see people guess the weight and see who is the closest. ;)

  6. I had to get steel block huggers to fit with my angled spark plugs. Ended up coating them and also putting exhaust wrap on them.

    so far soo good!!! Heat isnt that bad, but am mostly concerned about them being to close to my brake lines.

     

    I will prob just reroute them.

  7. FYI - Not trying the be a smartass here, but it is a front air "dam" and we also need to know what kind of car this is for. These parts are different between 240/260Z's and 280Z's.
