  1. Will, looking killer my friend. On the different diffs - the explorer and 03/04 cobra have the 31 spline carriers. Cobra had 3.55's, and the Explorer had 3.73 IIRC. All other / older diffs had the 28 spline carrier, and some came with an open diff. Do your homework, and you'll come out on top.
  2. How are you controlling boost? Spring pressure only? Do you have a reference to the bottom port on the WG from the compressor?
  3. Do yourself a huge favor up front and get rid of that damn DOD! All LS1 F body accessories should work.
  4. 28x10.5 MT ET Drag on an 8" wheel. Car would probably have about the same footprint on a 28x8.50 but I've been picking up used tires cheap and running them.
  5. Interesting. Wish you'd gotten that setup lined out. I think you would have squealed when it went low 8's like it could have.
  6. Forgot to update this! Trailer got finished just in time to leave. It pulls amazing, though lacking tongue weight. We remedied this by putting 20 gallons of E85 in the front. Car didn't even know it was back there!
  7. Sorry for your misfortune, sounds like you had THE bad experience with an LSx. BUT, thats why most people get the setup figured out on a stocker. I killed about every bearing in the bottom end, and I'm out $450. Out of curiosity, what does a 2J cost to make the power you had before? Which was?
  8. I made almost 600 WHP on a single walbro 255, corvette fpr, and a -6 feed..... It'll be fine. You can make over 1000 on a -8. I run three walbro 255 externals, on E85. Two will take you to around 700ish. Agree with the Bosch pump statement, I'd probably do that if I didn't get these pumps so cheap.

  10. Couple short videos I took before pulling the turbo and sending it off. Car was idling, and I shut it off. This shows the abnormal noise I'm hearing on shut-down.   11. I don't think you'll be disappointed. My turbo / stock 5.3 setup was making over 750hp to the ground, and it drove amazing. I could pull hills with a trailer behind my car at 1200rpm in 6th gear. Its all in the combo.
  12. Holley EFI is what I run, and what I recommend. If you're curious, just go to their website and download the sofware - its free! You can play around with it and make your decision from there.

  14. From the trap speed, its probably around 750-800 to the tire. Car weighs 2930 without me in it.

  17. Figured I could at least share the best slip of the week with you guys. The printer wasn't working right so they transferred it to this in the tower.
  18. IIRC it was 5.5qts. Not enough... obviously. All the pictures are on the website. I would NOT trust an F body pan without upgraded baffling in it, regardless of the added oil. Once you start to sustain hard acceleration, things change drastically.
  19. Yes, and more oil haha I know Improved Racing sells a baffle kit. Its a staggering 200 bones for just a couple trap doors though.... oooooF!
  20. Correct. I could potentially make it work, (buy fan controller, etc) but I'd rather just fix the problem than worry about monitoring it.
  21. New motor will be a 2005 5.3, same as this one. I probably won't even pull the slugs on the new one in the essence of time. Just swap over the valvetrain and throw some boost at it!
