  1. Well one of the main things they wanted to do also was making it dependable. And dependable running 400+HP. Since I assume they have a plan to increase the horse power over time. For example in the cobras etc. Any way time will tell but it seems really interesting so far.

  2. Hi I am wanting to trade professional web design and or logos etc for a zcar or parts in the Dallas area. The complexity and features of the website would depend on what the car is worth. I am willing to take anything from parts cars to finished cars to parts. I also am willing to do a deal with more than one person. You can never have to many parts cars or projects:)

You can see some of my work on my site http://www.pwlawrence.com . In the portfolio section there are several sections including illustration, web design and photography. I also have some more current examples of sites I can show you if you are interested.

  3. Was just looking at Fords new 5.0L "Cayote" V8 and with its smaller heads and lower intake looks like it would fit really nicely into a zcar. It also is also supposed to have 400hp in the base mustangs. Of course this will all be around 2011 so who knows but sounds good.

  4. Been doing some more research and found someone that did almost the same thing. http://www.furorecars.co.uk/contactme.php They got a Formula Ford 2000 and converted it to a 2 passanger street car. I personaly do not like a lot of the choices the made but its good to see it will work on the street.

And here is some more information on the same kind project. http://www.xanthos.com/main.html

And another likely starting place http://www.imps4ever.info/specials/d_sports/index.html

Seems there are lots of little D Sports Racing type cars that are about the right size etc.

  5. Ok not really a z project but I thought I would get some feedback. I have been thinking about something for autocross/solo events and a little road use. Something VERY light and easy to work on. In a relativly modest budget. Any way after a LOT of research I think I am going to convert a formula ford to a full body car. You can pick up formula fords that are not the very latest for a good price if you dont mind looking around. Then I would do a conversion to some kind of custom body like http://dsr.racer.net/chassis/wynnfurst/page1.htm . Also possibly convert to a better motor to. Any way I know it sounds a little crazy but should be an interesting project.

Oh and body wise thinking more along the lines of something with the Can Am look I like http://www.imca-slotracing.com/CANAM-1967.htm

Oh and this is interesting. A formula ford against a Ford Gt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z5G7Vct_ag

  6. You know I have been thinking more and more about what type of car to build. Used to I wanted a really fast street car and then maybe take it to the track some times. But the way things are changing and being more responsible now maybe its just time to build a car for some kind of SCCA racing or just a sporty looking cruiser.

  7. I found a new ford engine I did not know about I thought you guys might like to drool over.

"Just thought I'd share some before and after pictures of my Ford GAA tank engine. All aluminum 1100 cubic inch V8 used in WWII Sherman Tanks. These were gas burners rated at 500 HP and 1050 Ft. Lbs. of torque for military service, but are capable of much much more using mostly stock parts. They feature a 60 degree vee, 5.4 bore x 6.0 stroke, 180 degree factory billet cranks, pent roof combustion chambers, shaft driven DOHC's, 4 valves per cylinder, and dual mags. They are pretty high tech. engines, especially considering they were built in the early 40's. "
