Thanks for the info, Drive. I know 3rd gen RX7 is PITA to own, but they are just so pretty. I never driven one before, but I test drove the RX8, and I really like the way rotary engine sounds and rev. I took the RX8 all the way to 9K rpm, and the engine sounds exactly same as when it was reving at 3K rpm. Too bad RX8 does not have enought power. I am still not sure what I am going to do...keep the Z or get something else. I guess I'll spend time and money pimping my SC300 for now.

Drive, R u going to sell ur RX7? I am thinking to sell my 280Z(was going to do the LS1 swap...but not enough money, and too hard for the beginner to do it alone) and get a RX7 instead. Wanna trade?

Does the JTR manual any use if I am going to do the LS1 swap with John's car Kit?

I second that. I am going to do the L28ET swap later....and it will be so much easier for the newbie like me. I have no experience working on car before...and i got the 280Z so i can learn how to work/fix/mod.

Thanks...found it. Now....another question that may start some flam wars. Shall I use syntheetic, or regualr oil? What grade of oil to use for my 280Z? Thanks.

Hi y'all, Just got my 76 280Z(stock, for now) last week. Been busy, so today was actually the first time I took it out for a little drive(did the emission test and pass), and I love it. I used to have a 03 350z....the 280Z is not as powerfull, but it is just as fun to drive as the 350Z. I am going to do the oil change soon, and I just want to check a few things before I jack the car up and spend hours looking for drain plug(i felt so stupid my first time to do the oil change for my SC300. Could not find the drain plug and oil filter for 2 hours!!) So, where is the drain plug for the 280Z? also, i could not find the dip stick to check the oil level, where is it? Thanks.

I think the user name for that Z is Speeder, and he post the mod on his web site too.
